Model For Scattering With Proliferating Resonances: Many Coupled Square Wells, Nirav P. Mehta, Kaden R. A Hazzard, Christopher Ticknor

We present a multichannel model for elastic interactions, composed of an arbitrary number of coupled finite square-well potentials, and derive semianalytic solutions for its scattering behavior. Despite the model's simplicity, it is flexible enough to include many coupled short-ranged resonances in the vicinity of the collision threshold, as is necessary to describe ongoing experiments in ultracold molecules and lanthanide atoms. We also introduce a simple but physically realistic statistical ensemble for parameters in this model. We compute the resulting probability distributions of nearest-neighbor resonance spacings and analyze them by fitting to the Brody distribution. We quantify the ability of alternative …

Although morphology-dependent resonances (MDRs) have been studied for decades, it is interesting to note that TM resonances have not been as widely investigated as those of the TE mode. Nevertheless, the formers are also worthy of additional study. Even though the TE and TM mode resonances can be generated using the same technique, their properties (such as the additional sharp peak in the source function at the particle surface) are quite distinct. The spectrum of hadron is mainly composed as shortly-lived states (resonance) that decay onto two or more hadrons. These resonances play an important role in a variety of phenomenologically significant processes. In this talk, I give an overview on the present status of a rigorous program for studying of resonances and their properties using lattice QCD. I explain the formalism needed for extracting resonant amplitudes from the finite-volume spectra. From these one can extract the masses and widths of resonances.
