Evidence For Isospin Violation And Measurement Of C P Asymmetries In B → K ∗ ( 892 ) Γ, T. Horiguchi Et Al., D. Joffe, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

We report the first evidence for isospin violation in B→K∗γ and the first measurement of the difference of CP asymmetries between B+→K*+γ and B0→K*0γ. This analysis is based on the data sample containing 772×106B¯B pairs that was collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e− collider. We find evidence for the isospin violation with a significance of 3.1σ, Δ0+=[+6.2±1.5(stat)±0.6(syst)±1.2(f+−/f00)]%, where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the fraction of B+B− to B0¯B0 production in Υ(4S) decays. The measured value is consistent with predictions of the standard model. The result for the difference of CP asymmetries …

We report branching fraction measurements of the decays B+→ηℓ+νℓ and B+→η′ℓ+νℓ based on 711 fb−1 of data collected near the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. This data sample contains 772 million B¯B events. One of the two Bmesons is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. Among the remaining (“signal-B”) daughters, we search for the η meson in two decay channels, η→γγ and η→π+π−π0, and reconstruct the η′meson in η′→ηπ+π− with subsequent decay of the η into γγ. Combining the two η modes and using an extended maximum likelihood, the B+→ηℓ+νℓ branching fraction …

Lepton-Flavor-Dependent Angular Analysis Of B→K^{*}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}, S. Wehle Et Al., D. Joffe, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

We present a measurement of angular observables and a test of lepton flavor universality in the B → K∗ ` +` − decay, where ` is either e or µ. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1 containing 772 × 106 BB¯ pairs, collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e +e − collider KEKB. The result is consistent with Standard Model (SM) expectations, where the largest discrepancy from a SM prediction is observed in the muon modes with a local significance of 2.6σ.

We report the first observation of the radiative charm decay D0→ρ0γ and the first search for CP violation in decays D0→ρ0γ, ϕγ, and ¯K*0(892)γ, using a data sample of 943 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. The branching fraction is measured to be B(D0→ρ0γ)=(1.77±0.30±0.07)×10−5, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The obtained CP asymmetries ACP(D0→ρ0γ)=+0.056±0.152±0.006, ACP(D0→ϕγ)=−0.094±0.066±0.001, and ACP(D0→¯K*0γ)=−0.003±0.020±0.000 are consistent with no CP violation. We also present an improved measurement of the branching fractions B(D0→ϕγ)=(2.76±0.19±0.10)×10−5 and B(D0→¯K*0γ)=(4.66±0.21±0.21)×10−4.

Inclusive And Exclusive Measurements Of B Decays To Χ_{C1} And Χ_{C2} At Belle, V. Bhardwaj Et Al., D. Joffe
Faculty and Research Publications
We report inclusive and exclusive measurements for χc1 and χc2 production in B decays. We measure B(B → χc1X)= (3.03 ± 0.05(stat) ± 0.24(syst)) × 10−3 and B(B → χc2X)= (0.70 ± 0.06(stat) ± 0.10(syst)) × 10−3 . For the first time, χc2 production in exclusive B decays in the modes B 0 → χc2π −K+ and B + → χc2π +π −K+ has been observed, along with first evidence for the B + → χc2π +K0 S decay mode. For χc1 production, we report the first observation in the B + → χc1π +π −K+, B 0 → χc1π …

Search For The Rare Decay D^{0}→Γγ At Belle, N. K. Nisar Et Al., D. Joffe
Faculty and Research Publications
We search for the rare radiative decay D 0 → γγ using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 832 fb−1 recorded by the Belle detector at the KEKB e +e − asymmetric-energy collider. We find no statistically significant signal and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of B(D 0 → γγ) < 8.5 × 10−7 at 90% confidence level. This is the most restrictive limit on the decay channel to date.

Measurement Of The Decay B→Dℓν_{ℓ} In Fully Reconstructed Events And Determination Of The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa Matrix Element |V_{Cb}|, R. Glattauer Et Al., D. Joffe
Faculty and Research Publications
We present a determination of the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcb| using the decay B→Dℓνℓ (ℓ=e,μ) based on 711 fb−1 of e+e−→Υ(4S) data recorded by the Belle detector and containing 772×106 B¯B pairs. One B meson in the event is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, while the other, on the signal side, is partially reconstructed from a charged lepton and either a D+ or D0 meson in a total of 23 hadronic decay modes. The isospin-averaged branching fraction of the decay B→Dℓνℓ is found to be B(B0→D−ℓ+νℓ)=(2.31±0.03(stat)±0.11(syst))%. Analyzing the differential decay rate as a function of …
