Many tube checkers designed for radio receiving tubes have been developed . Most of the devices for test­ ing these tubes do little more than check the emission of the cathode. This is usually accomplished by applying alternating voltage to the plate of the tube undergoing the test and reading the direct-current component of the plate current .
