Production Cross Sections Of Hyperons And Charmed Baryons From E + E − Annihilation Near √ S = 10.52 Gev, M. Niiyama Et Al., D. Joffe, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

We measure the inclusive production cross sections of hyperons and charmed baryons from e+e−annihilation using a 800 fb−1 data sample taken near the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. The feed-down contributions from heavy particles are subtracted using our data, and the direct production cross sections are presented for the first time. The production cross sections divided by the number of spin states for S=−1 hyperons follow an exponential function with a single slope parameter except for the Σ(1385)+ resonance. Suppression for Σ(1385)+ and Ξ(1530)0 hyperons is observed. Among the production cross sections of …

Observation Of Excited Ω C Charmed Baryons In E + E − Collisions, J. Yelton, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri Mar 2018

Observation Of Excited Ω C Charmed Baryons In E + E − Collisions, J. Yelton, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

Faculty and Research Publications

Using the entire Belle data sample of 980  fb−1 of e+e− collisions, we present the results of a study of excited Ωc charmed baryons in the decay mode Ξ+cK−. We show confirmation of four of the five narrow states reported by the LHCb Collaboration: the Ωc(3000), Ωc(3050), Ωc(3066), and Ωc(3090).

Study Of K 0 S Pair Production In Single-Tag Two-Photon Collisions, M. Masuda Et Al., Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri Mar 2018

Study Of K 0 S Pair Production In Single-Tag Two-Photon Collisions, M. Masuda Et Al., Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

Faculty and Research Publications

We report a measurement of the cross section for K0S pair production in single-tag two-photon collisions, γ∗γ→K0SK0S, for Q2 up to 30  GeV2, where Q2 is the negative of the invariant mass squared of the tagged photon. The measurement covers the kinematic range 1.0  GeV

Observation Of An Alternative Χ_{C0}(2p) Candidate In E^{+}E^{-}→J/Ψdd[Over ¯], K. Chilikin Et Al., D. Joffe, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri Jun 2017

Observation Of An Alternative Χ_{C0}(2p) Candidate In E^{+}E^{-}→J/Ψdd[Over ¯], K. Chilikin Et Al., D. Joffe, Ratnappuli L. Kulasiri

We perform a full amplitude analysis of the process e+e−→J/ψD¯D, where D refers to either D0 or D+. A new charmoniumlike state X∗(3860) that decays to D¯D is observed with a significance of 6.5σ. Its mass is (3862+26−32 +40−13)  MeV/c2, and its width is (201+154−67 +88−82)  MeV. The JPC=0++ hypothesis is favored over the 2++ hypothesis at the level of 2.5σ. The analysis is based on the 980  fb−1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e− collider KEKB.

Study Of Π^{0} Pair Production In Single-Tag Two-Photon Collisions, M. Masuda Et Al., D. Joffe Feb 2016

Study Of Π^{0} Pair Production In Single-Tag Two-Photon Collisions, M. Masuda Et Al., D. Joffe

Faculty and Research Publications

We report a measurement of the differential cross section of π0 pair production in single-tag two-photon collisions, γ∗γ→π0π0, in e+e− scattering. The cross section is measured for Q2 up to 30 GeV2, where Q2 is the negative of the invariant mass squared of the tagged photon, in the kinematic range 0.5 GeV
