3d Self-Assemble Formation Of Molybdenum Disulfide (Mos2)-Doped Polyacrylamide (Paam) Composite Hydrogels, Sümeyye Durmaz, Ekrem Yildiz, Bengü Özuğur Uysal, Mehmet Önder Pekcan

Turkish Journal of Physics

Polyacrylamide (PAAm), a renowned member of the hydrogel class, has many uses throughout a wide range of industrial processes, including water absorbed diapers, contact lenses, wastewater treatment, biomedical applications such as drug delivery vehicles and tissue engineering because of its physical stability, durability, flexibility easier shaping, and so on. PAAm also provides new functionalities after the incorporation of inorganic structures such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). During the copolymerization process, the transmittance of all samples reduced significantly after a particular time, referred to as the gel point. Microgels form a tree above the gel point as projected by Flory-Stockmayer …

Elaboration And Study Of Structural And Optical Properties Of Aubr Nanocrystalsdispersed In Kbr Single Crystals, Hanane Zaioune, Fouzia Zehani, Noureddine Boutaoui, Badis Khennaoui

Turkish Journal of Physics

The structural and optical properties of the AuBr nanocrystals embedded in the KBr single crystals grown by the Czochralski method were studied using several techniques. The X-ray diffraction reveals their formation and incorporation. The crystallite average radii calculated from XRD using the Scherrer's formula was found to vary between 19 and 39 nm. The photoluminescence spectra obtained on these same samples present an emission band located at 1.91 eV (650 nm), which can be attributed to the orange luminescence of AuBr nanocrystals. However, the photoluminescence excitation measurements of these nanocrystals exhibit an excitation band located at 3.44 eV (360 nm), …

PbS thin films were grown on glass and GaSe crystal substrates by chemical bath deposition and their structural, morphological, optical, and electrical properties were investigated. PbS films grew in cubic structure with lattice constants equal to 5.9315 Å and 5.9362 Å for films grown on glass and GaSe crystal, respectively. The band gaps of the PbS films were determined to be 1.60 eV. The long wavelength tails of absorption spectra showed exponential dependence on the incident photon energy according to the Urbach-Martiensen model. Electrical properties of PbS films were investigated by the van der Pauw method, which showed that PbS …

Turkish Journal of Physics

Pb_xIn_{25-x}Se_{75} thin films with 2 compositions were prepared by thermal evaporation. The surface topography of these films was studied by transmission electron microscope. The optical reflectance and transmittance were studied in order to determine the optical parameters such as optical energy gap, refractive index, extinction coefficient, dielectric loss, and dielectric tangent loss for these films. A single oscillator theory equation was applied for these films in order to determine both dispersion energy and oscillating energy, and the ratio of free carrier concentration/effective mass (N/m*) was determined optically. It was found that change in the composition of these films affects strongly …

Morphological And Optical Properties Of Vacuum Evaporated Zno Thin Films, Farzana Chowdhury, S. M. Firoz Hasan, M. Sahabul Alam

Turkish Journal of Physics

ZnO thin films were deposited onto chemically and ultrasonically cleaned glass substrates by thermal evaporation in vacuum (\sim 10^{-6} mbar). The thickness of the films was measured by frequency shift of quartz crystal. The optical properties of the films have been ascertained by UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometry in the photon wavelength range of 300--2500 nm. The effect of substrate temperature on the optical properties of the films has been investigated, where all film thickness was kept fixed at 100 \pm 10 nm. The optical transmittance spectra reveal a maximum transmittance of 88% at room temperature around photon wavelength of 2350 nm. Band …

Hydrogen Implantation Effects On The Electrical And Optical Properties Of Inse Thin Films, Atef Fayez Qasrawi, Khaled Faisal Ilaiwi, Antonio Polimeni

Turkish Journal of Physics

The effects of hydrogen ion implantation on the structural, electrical and optical properties of amorphous InSe thin films have been investigated. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed no change in the structure of the films. An implantation of 7.3 x 10^{18} ions/cm^2 decreased the electrical conductivity by three orders of magnitude at 300 K. Similarly, the conductivity activation energy, which was calculated in the temperature range of 300-420 K, decreased from 210 to 78 meV by H-ion implantation. The optical measurements showed that the direct allowed transitions energy band gap of amorphous InSe films has decreased from 1.50 to 0.97 eV by …

Turkish Journal of Physics

In the present work, crystal structure and optical properties of the layered chalcogenides GaS_xSe_{1-x}, GaSe, TlGaSe_2 and TlInS_2 were investigated in the visible (VIS) and infrared (IR) range of spectra. Partial content of the elements were performed and the space group were determined by help of X-ray diffraction experiments. Making use of the experimental results, we have constructed a scheme of band motion for the transition from GaSe to GaS. It has been established that that the infrared active optical modes show typical two-mode behaviour. DOI: 10.1007/s10762-005-0294-3, 10.1063/1.2128694

Design And Preparation Of Antireflection And Reflection Optical Coatings, Özlem Duyar, H. Zafer Durusoy

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this study, reflective and antireflective coatings were designed and simulated. Optical transmission and reflection values were deduced with a matrix formulation via a personal computer. It was found that the number of layers affects the optical performance. The width of the high-reflectance region in the reflectance curves decreases, while its height increases with the increasing number of layers for the reflective coating design. The antireflection coatings transmit about 99.89% in a broad high-pass band at the central wavelength of \lambda_{0} = 450 nm. In addition, simulated Fabry-Perot filters result in a single sharp transmittance peak at the desired central …
