Heat And Mass Transfer In Micropolar Model For Blood Flow Through A Stenotic Tapered Artery, Moses S. Dada, Funmilola Alamu-Awoniran Dec 2020

Heat And Mass Transfer In Micropolar Model For Blood Flow Through A Stenotic Tapered Artery, Moses S. Dada, Funmilola Alamu-Awoniran

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

Heat and mass transfer in blood flow through a tapered artery with mild stenosis is examined. The blood is considered to be an incompressible, micropolar fluid flowing through a vessel with nonsymmetric axial and symmetric radial axes. The geometry of the model takes into account the shape parameter, tapered angle and height of the stenosis. The variation in the shape parameter is used to describe the changes in the axial shape of the stenosis in the artery. The governing equations for the model, comprising the continuity, momentum, energy, and mass transfer equations are transformed and simplified under the assumption of mild …

Soret Effect On Transient Mhd Convective Flow Past A Semi-Infinite Vertical Porous Plate With Heat Sink And Chemical Reaction, K. Choudhury, N. Ahmed Dec 2018

Soret Effect On Transient Mhd Convective Flow Past A Semi-Infinite Vertical Porous Plate With Heat Sink And Chemical Reaction, K. Choudhury, N. Ahmed

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This problem concerns with an analytical study of heat and mass transfer on unsteady MHD convective flow past a semi-infinite porous vertical plate in presence of thermal diffusion, heat sink and chemical reaction. A uniform magnetic field is imposed transversely to the plate. The governing equations are solved by perturbation technique. The expressions for the velocity, temperature and concentration fields as well as transport properties are obtained in non-dimensional form. The influence of the physical parameters like magnetic field parameter, Schmidt number, Prandtl number, heat sink parameter, chemical reaction parameter and Soret number on these fields is discussed through graphs …

Effect Of Buoyancy And Magnetic Field On Unsteady Convective Diusion Of Solute In A Boussinesq Stokes Suspension Bounded By Porous Beds, Nirmala P. Ratchagar, R. Vijayakumar Jun 2017

Effect Of Buoyancy And Magnetic Field On Unsteady Convective Diusion Of Solute In A Boussinesq Stokes Suspension Bounded By Porous Beds, Nirmala P. Ratchagar, R. Vijayakumar

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

Hydromagnetic free and forced convection in a parallel plate channel bounded by porous bed and transverse magnetic field has been considered. When there is a uniform axial temperature variation along the walls, the primary flow shows incipient flow reversal at the upper plate for an increase in temperature along that plate. Similarly flow reversal at the lower plate occurs with a decrease in temperature along that plate. The magnetic field, arising as a body couple in the governing equations is shown to increase the axis dispersion coefficient. The effect of various physical parameters such as Hartmann number, Grashof number, porous …

Effects Of Radiation Absorption And Thermo-Diffusion On Mhd Heat And Mass Transfer Flow Of A Micro-Polar Fluid In The Presence Of Heat Source, J. I. Oahimire, B. I. Olajuwon Dec 2014

Effects Of Radiation Absorption And Thermo-Diffusion On Mhd Heat And Mass Transfer Flow Of A Micro-Polar Fluid In The Presence Of Heat Source, J. I. Oahimire, B. I. Olajuwon

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

An analysis of the heat and mass transfer effects on an unsteady flow of a micro-polar fluid over an infinite moving permeable plate in a saturated porous medium in the presence of a transverse magnetic field, radiation absorption and thermo-diffusion were studied. The governing system of partial differential equations was transformed to dimensionless equations using suitable dimensionless variables. The dimensionless equations were then solved analytically using perturbation technique to obtain the expressions for the velocity, micro-rotation, temperature and concentration. With the help of graphs, the effects of the various important parameters such as the translational velocity, micro-rotational velocity, temperature and …

Effects Of Radiation Absorption And Mass Transfer On The Free Convective Flow Passed A Vertical Flat Plate Through A Porous Medium In An Aligned Magnetic Field, V. Manjulatha, S. V. K. Varma, V. C. C Raju Jun 2014

Effects Of Radiation Absorption And Mass Transfer On The Free Convective Flow Passed A Vertical Flat Plate Through A Porous Medium In An Aligned Magnetic Field, V. Manjulatha, S. V. K. Varma, V. C. C Raju

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This article analyses the effects of radiation absorption and mass transfer on the steady free convective flow of a viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid past an infinite vertical flat plate through a porous medium with an aligned magnetic field. Analytical solutions for concentration, temperature, and velocity are obtained by solving the governing equations in two cases namely (i) when the plate is at uniform temperature and concentration and (ii) when the plate is at constant heat and mass flux. Further the rate of mass transfer in terms of the Sherwood number, rate of heat transfer in terms of Nusselt …

Effects Of Chemical Reaction And Radiation Absorption On Mhd Flow Of Dusty Viscoelastic Fluid, J. Prakash, A. G. Vijaya Kumar, M. Madhavi, S. V. K. Varma

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This investigation is undertaken to study the effects of heat source and radiation absorption on unsteady hydro-magnetic heat and mass transfer flow of a dusty viscous incompressible, electrically conducting fluid between two vertical heated, porous, parallel plates in the presence of chemical reaction under the influence of a transverse applied magnetic field. Initially, the channel walls as well as the dusty fluid are assumed to be at the same temperature and the mass is assumed to be present at low level concentration so that it is constant everywhere. It is also assumed that the dusty particles are non-conducting, solid, spherical …
