Slip And Chemical Reaction Effects On Peristaltic Transport Of A Cou-Ple Stress Fluid Through A Permeable Medium With Complaint Wall, Gurunath Sankad, Mallinath Dhange

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In the present article, the effects of slip and homogeneous-heterogeneous chemical reaction on peristaltic pumping of a couple stress fluid through a permeable medium with complaint wall is studied as a model for transport phenomena occurring in the small intestine of human beings during digestion process. The mean effective coefficient of dispersion on simultaneous homo-geneous, heterogeneous chemical reactions has been derived through long wavelength assump-tion, and conditions of Taylor’s limit. The behaviors of key parameters on the mean effective dispersion coefficient have been examined through the graphs. It is found that slip and wall pa-rameters, and amplitude ratio favor the …

Dispersion Characteristics Of Non-Newtonian Fluid During Transportation Of Nanoparticles In Permeable Capillary, Rekha Bali, Nivedita Gupta, Swati Mishra

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The present analysis deals with the dispersion characteristics of blood described as Herschel- Bulkley fluid in capillary with permeable walls for fluid and impermeable for the nanoparticles. The contribution of molecular and convective diffusion is recalled from the Taylor and Aris coefficient of diffusion. The effective longitudinal diffusion depends on three parameters namely rheological parameter, pressure parameter, and the permeability parameter. We investigate the influence of the longitudinal transport of nanoparticles with permeable blood vessels on the effective dispersion. It shows that the effective diffusion of nanoparticles reduces with increase in radius of the plug region (i.e., the volume of …

Dispersion Of A Solute In Hartmann Two-Fluid Flow Between Two Parallel Plates, J. P. Kumar, J. C. Umavathi Dec 2013

Dispersion Of A Solute In Hartmann Two-Fluid Flow Between Two Parallel Plates, J. P. Kumar, J. C. Umavathi

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The paper presents an analytical solution for the dispersion of a solute in a conducting immiscible fluid flowing between two parallel plates in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. The fluids in both the regions are incompressible, electrically conducting and the transport properties are assumed to be constant. The channel walls are assumed to be electrically insulating. Separate solutions for each fluid are obtained and these solutions are matched at the interface using suitable matching conditions. The results are tabulated for various values of viscosity ratio, pressure gradient and Hartman number on the effective Taylor dispersion coefficient and volumetric …
