Pb50-xGexTe50 (x = 15, 20, 25, 30 at. %) nanocrystalline bulk alloys were prepared using solid-state direct reaction. X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) analysis of the reference structure (Ge = 15 at.%) revealed a slightly distorted cubic structure, with a lattice parameter of 6.43 Å and an inter-axis unit cell angle of 88.69◦. Atomic force images’ analysis and histograms displayed a homogenous particle size distribution in the nanoscale for all samples. Density measurements showed a gradual decrease from 7.89 to 6.98 g/cm3 with increasing Ge content in agreement with the calculated values. …

In this article, a Riga plate is exhibited with an electric magnetization actuator consisting of permanent magnets and electrodes assembled alternatively. This exhibition produces electromagnetic hydrodynamic phenomena over a fluid flow. A new study model is formed with the Sutterby nanofluid flow through the Riga plate, which is crucial to the structure of several industrial and entering advancements, including thermal nuclear reactors, flow metres and nuclear reactor design. This article addresses the entropy analysis of Sutterby nanofluid flow over the Riga plate. The Cattaneo–Christov heat and mass flux were used to examine the behaviour of heat and mass relaxation time. …

Because of the wide applications of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and magic properties of metal oxides, Hartree–Fock quantum mechanical calculations at HF/STO-3G were applied to study the electronic properties of CNTs and their interaction with ZnO, CuO, and Co 3O4. Calculations were conducted to calculate HOMO/LUMO bandgap energy ∆E, molecular electrostatic potential (MESP), and total dipole moment (TDM) for CNTs, CNTZn-O, CNT-Cu-O, CNT-Co-O, and CNT-O-Zn, CNT-O-Cu, CNT-O-Co following the two mechanisms of interaction as adsorbed and complex state. The evaluation of indoor humidity is challenging compared to other environmental parameters such as light intensity, temperature, sound and so forth. The proper selection of sensing materials and structural tuning will lead to high-performance humidity sensors. Herein, the SnO2/rGO and SnO2/rGO doped with Co nanocomposite were produced by microwave route. The obtained nanocomposite was characterized by XRD, SEM, EDAX, DTA, TGA, FTIR, Raman, and HRTEM. The successful incorporation of Co onto the rGO/SnO2 is affrmed by the XRD and supported with matching SEM and TEM outcomes where nanoscale particles exist. It is known that nanomaterials have been broadly employed worldwide as reinforcements for the production of high-strength and high mechanical performance concrete-based structures. Hereinafter, high-performance concrete (HPC) modifed with three types of additives were synthesized: exfoliated nano clay (NC), nano-silica (NS), and hybrid particles [silica fume (SF) & limestone (LS)]. The compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strengths, were investigated at 28 days of hydration. The exfoliated NC was simply prepared via exfoliating the thermally activated ordinary clay with the aid of organic ammonium chloride.
