Geometrization Of Hawking Radiation Via Ricci Flow, Alexander Cassem
Geometrization Of Hawking Radiation Via Ricci Flow, Alexander Cassem
Ramaley Celebration
In 1982, Richard S. Hamilton formulated Ricci flow along manifolds of three dimensions of positive Ricci curvature as an attempt to resolve Poincaré’s Conjecture. However, it took until 2006 by Grigori Perelman to resolve the conjecture with Ricci flow. Since then, research in pure mathematics on Ricci Flow increased exponentially, and people began to apply it towards physics. For example, Ricci flow has been found to be the Renormalization Group flow of the bosonic string and sigma model. However, Ricci flow’s analogous counterpart being the heat equation, makes it appear to have more applications. For this reason, we have studied …

Brain Network Structure And Interventions In A Computational Model Of Epilepsy, Joe Emerson
Brain Network Structure And Interventions In A Computational Model Of Epilepsy, Joe Emerson
Student Symposium
Some forms of drug-resistant epilepsy can only be treated via surgical intervention. This form of treatment requires the removal of a part of the brain identified as the seizure source. Current methods for surgical treatment are risky and many times unsuccessful. A deeper understanding of how brain connectivity facilitates seizure propagation is necessary for developing improved surgical techniques. Experimental limitations make certain clinical investigations of epilepsy difficult or impossible, but computational modeling offers a way forward when experimentation in living systems is impractical or unsafe. We used a full-hemisphere computational model for epilepsy to investigate the role of network structure …
Co2 Conversion Over Supported Coni Bimetallic And Conipd Trimetallic Catalyst Via Dry Reforming With Methane, Scott Bamonte
Co2 Conversion Over Supported Coni Bimetallic And Conipd Trimetallic Catalyst Via Dry Reforming With Methane, Scott Bamonte
Post & Beyond
Greenhouse gas emission is a problem for the earth, and is causing warming
of the climate, and acidification of the oceans. The primary objective of
this project is to develop novel cobalt based catalysts, to enhance catalytic
conversion of CO2 by methane into, value added chemicals and fuels. The
heterogeneous Co-based bimetallic and tri metallic catalysts were synthesized
via a wet incipient impregnation method to uniformly coat the metal
salts to the pre-treated support (TiO2, SiO2, and La-ZrO2). The catalyst was
dried in the oven at 80∞ C for two hours before subjected …

Academic Chairpersons Conference Proceedings
Like most campuses, we constantly deal with change at RIT, ranging from policy to climate. We believe everyone needs to feel valued - “Everybody Counts or Nobody Counts," and are attempting to build a supportive culture that includes individual and group mentoring, funding opportunities, and recognition.
Development Of A Novel Fe Based Heterogeneous Catalyst For Co2 Conversion, Scott Bamonte
Development Of A Novel Fe Based Heterogeneous Catalyst For Co2 Conversion, Scott Bamonte
Post & Beyond
Greenhouse gas emission has been a growing problem on the earth because of global warming and pollution of our air. The primary objective of this project is to develop a novel Fe based heterogeneous catalyst to enhance the catalytic conversion of CO2 by H2 for the synthesis of value added chemicals such as CO, methanol and fuels. We are focusing on iron for this catalyst because iron is one of the most abundant elements in the world and is very cheap making it optimal for catalyst use. The Fe-based solution we developed can be tuned to be either acidic or …
