The material in this text is intended to be accessible to undergraduates who have had an introduction to elementary set theory and proof techniques. It includes sufficient material from general topology to prove the two main topological results found in a standard first semester calculus course: the Intermediate Value Theorem and the Extreme Value Theorem.
