Improving The Relevancy Of Document Search Using The Multi-Term Adjacency Keyword-Order Model, Ram Gopal Raj
Ram Gopal Raj
This paper presents an enhanced vector space model, Multi-Term Adjacency Keyword-Order Model, to improve the relevancy of search results, specifically document search. Our model is based on the concept of keyword grouping. The keyword-order relationship in the adjacency terms is taken into consideration in measuring a term’s weight. Assigning more weights to adjacency terms in a query order results in the document vector being moved closer to the query vector, and hence increases the relevancy between the two vectors and thus eventually results in documents with better relevancy being retrieved. The performance of our model is measured based on precision …

Automated Web Based System For Bone Age Assessment Using Historam Technique, Ram Gopal Raj
Ram Gopal Raj
Bone age assessment (BAA) is often used to evaluate the growth status of children as part of the detection of hormonal problems and genetic disorders. The determination of skeletal maturity is done based on a radiological examination of the hand-wrist skeletal area. This paper introduces a novel approach for BAA that utilizes a histogram based comparison technique. This approach is executed as a web based system that uses an image repository and similarity measures based on content-based image retrieval. This study aims to overcome to the limitations of traditional methods utilized to estimate human age which were often imprecise. The system provides …
A Pattern Based Approach For The Derivation Of Base Forms Of Verbs From Participles And Tenses For Flexible Nlp, Ram Gopal Raj
A Pattern Based Approach For The Derivation Of Base Forms Of Verbs From Participles And Tenses For Flexible Nlp, Ram Gopal Raj
Ram Gopal Raj
Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an integral part of a conversation and by proxy an integral part of a chatterbot. Building a complete vocabulary for a chatterbot is a prohibitively time and effort intensive endeavor and thus makes a learning chatterbot a much more efficient alternative. Learning can be performed from many facets including individual words to phrases and concepts. From the perspective of words, the grammatical parts of speech become important since they allow meaning and structure to be derived from a sentence. Verbs tend to be unique since they have different forms, namely participles and tenses. As such …
A Model For Determining The Degree Of Contradictions In Information, Ram Gopal Raj
A Model For Determining The Degree Of Contradictions In Information, Ram Gopal Raj
Ram Gopal Raj
Conversational systems are gaining popularity rapidly. Consequently, the believability of the conversational systems or chatterbots is becoming increasingly important. Recent research has proven that learning chatterbots tend to be rated as being more believable by users. Based on Raj’s Model for Chatterbot Trust, we present a model for allowing chatterbots to determine the degree of contradictions in contradictory statements when learning thereby allowing them to potentially learn more accurately via a form of discourse. Some information that is learnt by a chatterbot may be contradicted by other information presented subsequently. Choosing correctly which information to use is critical in chatterbot …

A One-Mode-For-All Predictor For Text Messaging, Ram Gopal Raj
Ram Gopal Raj
This paper discusses the enhancements made on the current mobile phone messaging software, namely the predictive text entry. In addition, the application also has a facility to abbreviate any unabbreviated words that exist in the dictionary, so that the message length can be reduced. The application was tested in a computer-simulated mobile environment and the results of the tests are presented here. These additional features will potentially enable users to send messages at a reduced length and thus reduce the cost of sending messages. Moreover, users who are not adept in using the abbreviations can now do so with features …
Morphogrammatics Of Reflection, Rudolf Kaehr
Morphogrammatics Of Reflection, Rudolf Kaehr
Rudolf Kaehr
Turning back from the studies of morphogrammatics to some open questions of reflectional programming, the recountered problematics might be put into a different light and new methods of handling formal aspects of reflection and reflectionality shall be introduced. Albeit the use of light-metaphors, morphogrammatic reflection is not sketched along the paradigm of optical metaphors. Morphograms are presenting neither propositions nor perceptions able for mirroring (representation). Exercises in defining morphogrammatic retro-grade recursion and reflection schemata are continued from the paper “Sketches to Morphogrammatic Programming”.

Memristics: Memristors, Again? – Part Ii, How To Transform Wired ‘Translations’ Between Crossbars Into Interactions?, Rudolf Kaehr
Rudolf Kaehr
The idea behind this patchwork of conceptual interventions is to show the possibility of a “buffer-free” modeling of the crossbar architecture for memristive systems on the base of a purely difference-theoretical approach. It is considered that on a nano-electronic level principles of interpretation appears as mechanisms of complementarity. The most basic conceptual approach to such a complementarity is introduced as an interchangeability of operators and operands of an operation. Therefore, the architecture of crossbars gets an interpretation as complementarity between crossbar functionality and “buffering” translation functionality. That is, the same matter functions as operator and at once, as operand – …

Memristics: Memristors, Again?, Rudolf Kaehr
Rudolf Kaehr
This collection gives first and short critical reflections on the concepts of memristics, memristors and memristive systems and the history of similar movements with an own focus on a possible interplay between memory and computing functions, at once, at the same place and time, to achieve a new kind of complementarity between computation and memory on a single chip without retarding buffering conditions.
Sketch Of A Typology Of Abstract Memristic Machines, Rudolf Kaehr
Sketch Of A Typology Of Abstract Memristic Machines, Rudolf Kaehr
Rudolf Kaehr
A typology of memristic machines is sketched. This sketch gives an overview and orientation to the paper “Towards Abstract Memristic Machines”. It also intents to propose a concise systematization of the newly introduced terms and strategies to memristics and morphogrammatics. This sketch is introducing four types of sign-use for four types of machines of fundamentally different paradigms: 1. semiotic, 2. monomorphic, 3. polymorphic and 4. bisimilar abstract machines. Further definitions of abstract machines have to be based on those graphematic notational systems. A realization of such constructions of abstract machines, in contrast to existing abstract machines of the theory of …

From Universe To Polyverses, Rudolf Kaehr
Rudolf Kaehr
Some thoughts about the power of speculation behind important discoveries in mathematics, physics and computer science. The exercise shows that there is no need for a compulsory ultimate unifying universe. It is speculated that just this paradigm of a single ultimate universe is unmasking itself today as the main obstacle for further development in Western science and technology.

Understanding interactivity in/between bigraphs and diamonds Grammatologically, the Western notational system is not offering space in itself to place sameness and otherness necessary to realize interaction/ality. Alphabetism is not prepared to challenge the dynamics of interaction directly. The Chinese writing system in its scriptural structuration, is able to place complex differences into itself, necessary for the development and design of formal systems and programming languages of interaction. The challenge of interactionality to Western thinking, modeling and design interactivity has to be confronted with the decline of the scientific power of alpha-numeric notational systems as media of living in a complex …

Adaptive Agents For Supply Networks, Gavin Finnie, Jeffrey Barker
Adaptive Agents For Supply Networks, Gavin Finnie, Jeffrey Barker
Jeffrey Barker
Dynamic information flow in esupply networks requires that buyers and suppliers have the ability to react rapidly when needed. Using intelligent agents to automate the process of buyer/seller interaction has been proposed by a number of researchers. One problem in providing intelligent automated collaboration is incorporating learning capability i.e. an agent should be capable of adapting its behaviour as conditions change. This paper proposes a scalable multi-agent system which uses case-based reasoning as a framework for at least part of its intelligence. Tests with a simulated system show that such an agent is capable of learning the best supplier and …
