Enhanced [Ru(Bpy)_3]~(2+)-Mediated Oxidation Of Guanine Prompted By Dhp, Bao-Lian Zhang, Wei Hong, Bao-Yi Lu, Hong Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

The effects of dihexadecyl phosphate(DHP) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs) on the oxidation of guanine mediated by[Ru(bpy)3]2+ on the ITO electrode have been investigated by cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The results showed that [Ru(bpy)3]2+ can mediate the oxidation. In the range from 0.01 to 0.15 mmol·L-1,peak currents for guanine oxidation mediated by [Ru(bpy)3]2+ increased with the rise of DHP concentrations. On the contrary, cationic surfactant HTAC has the ability to weaken the mediated oxidation of guanine. In addition, the oxidative mechanism of guanine mediated by [Ru(bpy)3]2+ with the participation of DHP is discussed.

Synthesis And Characterization Of Sulfur-Carbonnanotubes As Cathode Of Lithium/Sulfur Rechargeable Battery, Rui Du, Zhong-Zhi Yuan Aug 2009

Synthesis And Characterization Of Sulfur-Carbonnanotubes As Cathode Of Lithium/Sulfur Rechargeable Battery, Rui Du, Zhong-Zhi Yuan

Journal of Electrochemistry

A carbon-containing composite was synthesized by heating element sulfur and carbon nanotubes. The sulfur-carbonnanotube composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction,SEM,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller.The electrochemical property was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, constant current charge and discharge. It was revealed that the sulfur-carbonnanotube cathode 2016-type coin cells exhibited a good electrochemical property with the initial dicharge specific capacity up to 680 mAh/g and a stable capacity approximately 500 mAh/g after 30 cycle numbers.

Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Modified Polymer Organic Photovoltaics, Tzu-Fan Chen May 2009

Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes-Modified Polymer Organic Photovoltaics, Tzu-Fan Chen

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Since the carbon nanotubes were first discovered by Iijima in 1991, CNTs have been the focus of intense research by many groups. Nearly 7000 papers and 700 theses on carbon nanotubes can be found from the eminent journals such as Nature and Science in the last decade. Since carbon nanotubes show impressive mechanical, physical and electronic properties such as high stiffness, high strength, low density, and excellent thermal conductivity, suggesting its role in light-weight high strength material application. A great quantity of important research has evidently been done in this field. The purpose of this thesis research is to investigate …

Electrochemical Properties Of Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes And Their Applications In Analysis Of 6-Mercaptopurine, Bao-Yi Lu, Yan-Yan Lai, Hong Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

The electrochemical behaviors and adsorption properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes such as SWNT,SWNT-COOH,and SWNT-OH and multi-walled carbon nanotubes including MWNT,MWNT-COOH,and MWNT-OH modified at a graphite electrode have been investigated by using [Fe(CN)6]3-anion and [Co(phen)3]3+ cation. It was shown that shows good redox reversibility of [Fe(CN)6]3-/4-reactions on the existed carbon nanotubes(CNT) modified electrode.Based on the strong adsorptive property of [Co(phen)3]3+ on the CNT surface, the [Co(phen)3]3+/CNT modified graphite electrode can be obtained by progressive potential sweeping and developed to monitor quantitatively 6-mercaptopurine(6-MP).The adsorption capacity of [Co(phen)3]3+ on the multi-walled carbon nanotubes is higher than that of single-walled carbon nanotubes. For the carbon nanotubes with …

Nitric oxide (NO) is an important intercellular messenger that acts in many tissues to regulate a diverse range of physiological and pathological processes. The physiologically implications of NO function are far from being completely understood. The multifaceted reactivity of NO prompted the need for accurate determination of the concentration of this molecule. However, it is difficult to detect nitric oxide, particularly in biological media and near live cells due to its short half-life, a result of its reactivity and the low levels of NO produced in vivo. As a result, the accurate and reliable detection of NO under varying experimental …
