Simulation On Cooperative Control Of Connected And Automated Vehicles At Interchange Based On Petri Net, Mingbao Pang, Zhen Liu

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To improve the traffic efficiency of interchange, a simulation model of complete process is built by timed Petri net (TdPN) considering multiple separation and merging behaviors in the process of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) passing through the interchange. In the light of vehicle priority, a speed guidance strategy is proposed and a CAVs cooperative control model is established, so as to form a complete interchange TdPN model. This method is verified by simulation and compared with the cooperative control method of interchange exit and its connecting area, cooperative control method of multi-merging areas within the interchange. The results …

Interchange injection events are commonly observed by the Cassini spacecraft in the region between about 6 and 12 Rs (1 Rs = 60,268 km) and even frequently beyond. In this study, 13 examples of interchange injection events are identified in Cassini-Cassini Plasma Spectrometer data under special conditions such that time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectra could be obtained from entirely within the events. Using the TOF data to separate the main ion species H+, H2+, and W+, approximate densities of each species are calculated under the assumption that all distributions were isotropic. The …

Train Schedule Coordination At Interchange Station In An Open Railway Market Through Agent Negotiation, Chi W. Tsang, Tin K. Ho, Kwan Ho Ip

SMART Infrastructure Facility - Papers

In open railway markets, coordinating train schedules at an interchange station requires negotiation between two independent train operating companies to resolve their operational conflicts. This paper models the stakeholders as software agents and proposes an agent negotiation model to study their interaction. Three negotiation strategies have been devised to represent the possible objectives of the stakeholders, and they determine the behavior in proposing offers to the proponent. Empirical simulation results confirm that the use of the proposed negotiation strategies lead to outcomes that are consistent with the objectives of the stakeholders.
