How Museum Utilize Social Media On Communication, Jiake Han

School of Professional Studies

With the development of Internet, social media became more and more popular among people. Many industries realize the importance of social media in business. Traditionally, museum concentrates more on personal visual experience, which is hard to be replaced by online media. However, museums now also put more concentrate on social media platform because it expands the way of engagement. Especially, for Coronavirus, many organizations including museums have to close. Therefore, museums have to depend more on social media platforms to communicate with audiences. This research aims at finding how different kind of social media help museum communicate and engage with …

Provable Security Of Symmetric-Key Cryptographic Schemes., Ashwin Jha Dr. Oct 2020

Provable Security Of Symmetric-Key Cryptographic Schemes., Ashwin Jha Dr.

Doctoral Theses

In this thesis, we provide quantitative and/or qualitative improvements in the provable security of several symmetric-key schemes, encompassing major information security goals, viz. data authentication, encryption, and authenticated encryption.AUTHENTICATION AND INTEGRITY: Among authentication schemes, we analyze the CBC-MAC family and counter-based MACs (XMACC, XMACR, PCS, LightMAC etc.), referred as the XMAC family. First, we revisit the security proofs for CBC-MAC and EMAC, and identify a critical flaw in the state-of-the-art results. We revise the security proofs and obtain significantly better bounds in case of EMAC, ECBC and FCBC. Second, we study the security of CBC-MAC family, when the underlying primitive …

Learning Assistant And Instructor Communication: Impacts On Perceived Efficacy, Jahangir Rassouli, Laura Ríos Jul 2020

Learning Assistant And Instructor Communication: Impacts On Perceived Efficacy, Jahangir Rassouli, Laura Ríos

Physics

The Learning Assistant (LA) Model was co-developed by Richard McCray and Valerie Otero at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2003. In this model, senior undergraduate students serve as facilitators for group discussion in lower-division courses, and employ evidenced-based practices for promoting inquiry and active learning [1]. Since its inception, the LA model has grown to various departments, disciplines, and universities.

At California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), the LA program in the physics department is still in its early stages. As such, it is an environment rich for exploration into the affordances, limitations, and benefits of …

From the book "Speaking into the Air: A History of the Idea of Communication," written by John Durham Peters, we understand a notion about developing one’s destiny; people have the freedom to choose multiple paths to follow (Peters, 2012). If we reject this idea, it is also easy for people to come up with distinct explanations. Even though the meaning of the same issues might vary subject to who is interpreting them, the primary concepts can be interpreted as more or less the same. If we study these two--"artificial intelligence" and "communication"- simultaneously, we can assume some characteristics. Thus, this …
