The report which is being submitted here is the result of several weeks of field and laboratory work investigating the rocks of the Upper Cretaceous System of Ellis County, Kansas. The writer has attempted to consider the subject primarily from a chemical viewpoint although much of the background for the work has been of a geological nature. There has been no attempt to give a complete chemical analysis of the rocks of the Upper Cretaceous System, but rather a more or less thorough analysis in regard to the percentage of lime that the rocks of the various formations and members …
