Data
The APR file "mdde_habitat" and the directories "gisdata", "images", and "temp" together are an appendix to Part 1, "Benthic Habit Mapping and Resource Evaluation of Potential Sand Mining Areas Offshore Maryland and Delaware, 1998-1999" that was created with and must be read with "ArcView" (tm) software with the "Spatial Analyst" extension. To view the project, start the ArcView program and open the project file, mmde-habitat.apr, when prompted. The project should enable the necessary extensions. It is a very large file and may take 5 to 10 minutes to load.

Assessment Of Nongame Bird Habitat Using Forest Survey Data, United States Department Of Agriculture, Forest Service
Assessment Of Nongame Bird Habitat Using Forest Survey Data, United States Department Of Agriculture, Forest Service
Wildlife Conservation and Management
Forest Survey data have potential for use in obtaining information on the condition and diversity of the Nation's forest resources relevant to wildlife habitat that is needed for planning and monitoring at State and regional levels. In this study, Forest Survey data were used to assess nongame bird habitat potential based on food and shelter requirements on 24 plots. These assessments were then evaluated using bird numbers. Results of the analyses showed some correlation of bird numbers with tree canopy variables, and illustrate the potential for using Forest Survey data for wildlife habitat assessment, for identifying opportunities to improve habitat …
Analysis, Design And Implementation Of A Pilot Relational Database For Groundwater In The State Of Arkansas, Ray Hashemi-Nassab
Analysis, Design And Implementation Of A Pilot Relational Database For Groundwater In The State Of Arkansas, Ray Hashemi-Nassab
Technical Reports
There are several agencies within the state of Arkansas dealing with underground water. Each agency has its own database that acts as an isolated depository of data. Practically, the communication among these databases is zero, not because there is no need for it, but because the communication is very difficult if not impossible. Data redundancy, inconsistency, and lack of integrity is overwhelming. In this study we have addressed the problem of lack of unity among the databases belonging to different agencies. Also, as an alternative we have developed a relational database. In this database the data was normalized to 4NF. …

Data Collection And Presentation Procedures For The U.S. Army's Chemical Hazard Assessment Warning System (Chaws), Michael H. Merry
All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)
This report describes the basic procedures and references more detailed documents for the operation of meteorological and air quality sensing instrumentation, data depiction and analysis systems for an incinerator pilot plant located at the Tooele Army Depot site near Salt Lake City, Utah. It discusses the site topography and climatology, sensor configuration, calibration, quality assurance and data reporting procedures for the monitoring system and demonstrates their compliance with applicable environmental regulations of United States Federal Government and the State of Utah.

Hydrologic And Climatologic Data, Southeastern Uinta Basin, Utah And Colorado: Water Year 1978, United States Geological Survey
All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)
This report contains hydrologic and climatologic data that were collected as part of an investigation of the southeastern Uinta Basin, Utah and Colorado, by the U.S. Geological Survey. The data are mainly for the 1978 water year, which includes the period October 1977-September 1978. Conroy and Fields (1977) reported data collected mainly for water years 1975 and 1976, and Conroy (1979) reported data collected mainly for water year 1977.

Water Resources Data For Nebraska Water Year 1976
Conservation and Survey Division
Water resources data for the 1976 water year for Nebraska consist of records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; stage and contents of lakes and reservoirs; and water levels and water quality in wells and springs. This report contains discharge records for 146 gaging stations; stage and contents for 9 lakes and reservoirs; water quality for 40 gaging stations, 18 ungaged stations, 27 partial-record flow stations, and 96 wells; and water levels for 66 observation wells. Also included are 114 crest-stage partial-record stations and 12 low-flow partialrecord stations. Additional water data were collected at various sites, not part …

Colloidal Content And Related Soil Factors As Indicators Of Site Quality, Irvine T. Haig
Colloidal Content And Related Soil Factors As Indicators Of Site Quality, Irvine T. Haig
Yale School of the Environment Bulletin Series
This paper presents a study of the correlation between soil colloidal content and soil productiveness and hence a measure of the value of colloidal content in determining site quality. The character of this investigation also permitted incidental observation and comment on the relative value of organic matter, soil acidity, and soil type and class as similar measures. The findings are directly applicable to the forest soils of southern Connecticut and, more particularly, to such of these soils as occur commonly in the vicinity of New Haven. Since these soils are typical of the brown, weakly podsolized forest soils of southern …
