Synthesis Of Keggin Polyoxometalates Modified Carbon Paste Electrode As A Sensor For Dopamine Detection, Peng-Fei Dong, Na Li, Hai-Yan Zhao, Min Cui, Cong Zhang, Ju-Jie Ren, Xue-Ping Ji

Journal of Electrochemistry

Polyoxometalates, a class of anionic clusters with structure diversity and size variability, make them very attractive in many fields such as electrochemistry, catalysis and medicine. The Co(C15N6H12)2[PW12O38]·5H2O(Co[PW12O38]) modified carbon paste electrode was prepared in this work, and its electrochemical performances as the sensor for dopamine detection were characterized with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The preparation conditions and test conditions were optimized respectively. Under the optimized conditions, the POMs modified carbon paste electrode exhibited good selectivity and sensitivity …

Electrodeposition Of Cobalt From Eutectic-Based Ionic Liquid, Rostom Ali M., Sankar Saha S, Ziaur Rahman Md Oct 2018

Electrodeposition Of Cobalt From Eutectic-Based Ionic Liquid, Rostom Ali M., Sankar Saha S, Ziaur Rahman Md

Journal of Electrochemistry

The electrodeposition of cobalt from a solution containing cobalt chloride in either a urea-choline chloride based or an ethylene glycol (EG)-choline chloride based ionic liquid has been carried out onto copper and steel cathodes by constant current and constant potential methods at different temperatures. The influences of various experimental conditions on electrodeposition and morphology of the deposited layers have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD)technique. It has been shown that the smooth, shiny with good adherence and bright metallic coloured cobalt coatings were obtained from both urea and EG based ionic liquids at the applied …

Complex Coordination Silver Electrocrystallization Mechanism On Glassy Carbon Electrode Surface, Shuai-Shuai Huang, Cheng Liu, Lei Jin, Fang-Zu Yang, Zhong-Qun Tian, Shao-Min. Zhou Aug 2018

Complex Coordination Silver Electrocrystallization Mechanism On Glassy Carbon Electrode Surface, Shuai-Shuai Huang, Cheng Liu, Lei Jin, Fang-Zu Yang, Zhong-Qun Tian, Shao-Min. Zhou

Journal of Electrochemistry

Cyclic voltammetry and potential step methods were successfully used to study the electrochemical crystallization mechanism of silver deposition on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in the practical cyanide-free silver plating electrolyte containing composite complexing agents. Scharifker-Hill (SH) theory was used to fitting the experimental data. The results showed that the electrodeposition of silver is a diffusion controlled irreversible electrode process according to three-dimensional instantaneous nucleation mechanism. When the step potential shifted from -750 mV to -825 mV, the peak deposition current Im was increased, while the induced nucleation time tm shortened. The calculated kinetic parameters showed that the diffusion coefficient (D) …

Immobilization Of Gold Nanoparticles On Nitrided Carbon Fiber Ultramicroelectrodes By Direct Reduction, George Affadu-Danful Aug 2018

Immobilization Of Gold Nanoparticles On Nitrided Carbon Fiber Ultramicroelectrodes By Direct Reduction, George Affadu-Danful

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Due to enhanced properties such as large surface area-to-volume ratio, metal nanoparticles are often employed as catalysts for various applications. However, most studies involving nanoparticle catalysts have been conducted on collections of particles rather than single nanoparticles. Results obtained for ensemble systems can be difficult to interpret due to variations in particle loading and interparticle distance, which are often challenging to control and characterize. In this study, two immobilization strategies for incorporating gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on carbon fiber ultramicroelectrodes (UMEs) were compared with the goal of extending these techniques to nanoelectrodes for studies of single AuNPs. Both layer-by-layer deposition of …

Cationic Ruthenium Complexes In Catalysis: The Activation Of Propargylic Alcohols Through Electronically Tuned Complexes, Matthew James Stark Apr 2018

Cationic Ruthenium Complexes In Catalysis: The Activation Of Propargylic Alcohols Through Electronically Tuned Complexes, Matthew James Stark

Dissertations

With increasing complexity of metal complexes, it is of worthwhile interest to pursue systematic examinations of ligand modifications to study their impact on the reactivity of a catalyst. To that end, this study aimed to understand the effect electron-withdrawing ligands conveyed to catalytic activity in the etherification of propargylic alcohols and related reactions. A number of half-sandwich ruthenium complexes bearing ligands with varying electron–withdrawing properties were synthesized and structurally characterized. Their electronic and structural properties were investigated utilizing X-ray crystallography, revealing that the series of complexes did not vary significantly in structure. The complexes were studied electronically with cyclic voltammetry, …

Multiwall Carbon Nanotube Paste Electrode As A Sensor For Sensitive Determination Of Deferasirox In The Presence Of Uric Acid: Application For The Analysis Of Pharmaceutical And Biological Samples, Golnaz Parvizi Fard, Reza Emamali Sabzi Jan 2018

Multiwall Carbon Nanotube Paste Electrode As A Sensor For Sensitive Determination Of Deferasirox In The Presence Of Uric Acid: Application For The Analysis Of Pharmaceutical And Biological Samples, Golnaz Parvizi Fard, Reza Emamali Sabzi

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

In this work, the electrochemical oxidation of deferasirox at a multiwall carbon nanotube paste electrode (MWCNTPE) was described. The electrochemical behavior of deferasirox was studied using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques and parameters such as charge transfer coefficient ($\alpha )$, the number of electrons involved in the rate-determining step ($n_{a})$, and diffusion coefficient ($D)$ were calculated. The capability of the electrode for the determination of deferasirox at low concentrations was investigated using the differential pulse voltammetry technique. It was found that the calibration graph of deferasirox was linear in the concentration range of 0.16-16.5 $\mu $M and its detection limit …
