Introduction. Accurate assessment of prognosis is a key driver of clinical decision making in congenital heart disease (CHD), but is complicated because CHD represents such a diverse collection of conditions. The aim of this investigation is to derive, validate, and calibrate multivariable predictive models for time to surgical or catheter-mediated intervention (INT) in CHD and for time to death in CHD. Methods. 4108 unique subjects were prospectively and consecutively enrolled, and randomized to derivation and validation cohorts. The pandemic spread of COVID-19 is a continued global health emergency. The objectives of this paper were to examine Factors affecting the mortality rate of older patients with COVID-19 in Nebraska. A longitudinal analysis of data gathered from the Nebraska Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) was performed. Included were 322 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in the month of October 2020. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate the time to death of individuals over the age of 65 after a positive COVID-19 diagnosis and the probability of survival to any given time point. Objective: Disparities in the distribution of oral and pharyngeal cancer exist worldwide. This is also true in the United States and in South Carolina. Differences exist in oral and pharyngeal cancer stage and survival by race and sex, with higher incidence rates for Whites but higher proportions of late-stage cancer and lower survival for Blacks. Introduction: Anemia is a serious public health. Several studies indicate that anemia status is a factor that might influence survival and response to cancer treatment in patients. Objective: To determine the relationship between anemia and 5-year survival in cancer patients. Methods: Observational, analytical, and retrospective cohort study. The sample population consisted of novel diagnosed cancer patients registered for hospital care with their respective follow up from 2014 until 2019. Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic cancer in the United States with recent trends showing a continued increase in incidence and mortality. Prognosis is influenced by cancer stage at diagnosis and differs by race/ethnicity. Researchers have documented poorer survival among Blacks than Whites diagnosed with endometrial cancer. The 5-year survival rates for women with endometrial cancer is 81%; while survival for White and Black women are 84% and 62%, respectively. There is a gap in literature examining the widening disparity in incidence and survival of women diagnosed with advanced stage disease among population subgroups across the United States. The …

Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. Historically, the Appalachian region of Kentucky has experienced disparities in colorectal cancer screening and survival as compared to both the non-Appalachian region of the state and the United States. The aim of this paper is to investigate the differences in cancer staging and survival after diagnosis in Appalachian and non-Appalachian Kentuckians. The present time period of study is a retrospective, population-based cohort with data taken from the Kentucky Cancer Registry.
