This pilot study explored the effectiveness of a validated curriculum called, “Navigating the Health Care System” (NTHCSÓ) in improving the health literacy of high school-aged adolescents in response to the national call to promote knowledge and skills in all ages, and socio-economic and cultural groups to achieve healthier lives. Low health literacy has been shown to greatly affect the quality of lives, health outcomes, and health spending of individuals with and without health conditions across social demographics.
