The implications of workload and personal and patient-related burnout have been identified in numerous physicians’ studies. While burnout syndrome has become a subject of great interest for examining provider burnout to assess successful solutions, there is minimal research unique to nurse practitioners in primary care settings. This project was intended to determine the prevalence and effect of nurse practitioners’ burnout in primary care settings and make recommendations for improving nurse practitioners’ overall health and well-being.
