Introduction: Planned or unplanned hospitalization increases the family’s stress and anxiety level. Hospitalization creates stress as they interrupt normal routines and place increased demands on parents who must further divide their time between the normal responsibilities and their hospitalized child. Many parents feel a lack of control and sense of powerlessness when their child is hospitalized.
