Aneurysmal bone cysts are expansile lytic lesions that most commonly affect the metaphysis of long tubular bones. These lesions are locally aggressive and predominately occur within the first two decades of life. Currently the most widely used surgical treatment involves intralesional curettage of the affected bone. However, there have been several reports of high recurrence rates with this technique. We present a case of a 12 year old female who presented with an aneurysmal bone cyst of the lateral malleolus of the right ankle.
