Despite advancing therapies, heart failure remains a progressive disease with high symptom burden. Advance care planning and palliative care assist in maximizing the quality of life for affected individuals. These interventions are supported by current heart failure guidelines yet application into practice is poor. The purpose of this literature review is to investigate the relationship between advance care planning and palliative care interventions on the quality of life of adults with heart failure.
