Root And Canal Morphology Of Maxillary Premolar Teeth In An Egyptian Subpopulation Using Two Classification Systems: A Cone Beam Computed Tomography Study, Shehabeldin Mohamed Saber Prof.Dr. Mar 2019

Root And Canal Morphology Of Maxillary Premolar Teeth In An Egyptian Subpopulation Using Two Classification Systems: A Cone Beam Computed Tomography Study, Shehabeldin Mohamed Saber Prof.Dr.

Dentistry

Aim: To investigate the number of roots and root canal configurations using two coding systems and the root canal diverging and merging levels in extracted maxillary premolars in an Egyptian subpopulation using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methodology: A total of 700 maxillary premolars were examined using CBCT in an Egyptian subpopulation. The number of roots was identified, and root canal configurations were classified according to Vertucci's classification and a new system for classifying root and canal morphology. In addition, the position where roots bifurcated and the levels where canals merged or diverged were identified. Fisher's exact test and independent …

Osseointegrated Implants Versus Zirconium Mucosal Inserts In Complete Denture Patients, Sara Fikry El Shafei Dr, Fardos N Rizk Jan 2019

Osseointegrated Implants Versus Zirconium Mucosal Inserts In Complete Denture Patients, Sara Fikry El Shafei Dr, Fardos N Rizk

Dentistry

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of osseointegrated implants versus mucosal inserts used for retention of complete dentures. Materials and Methods: Twelve completely edentulous patients were selected for this study and divided into two groups of six. Group I received implant retained maxillary overdentures, while group II received maxillary overdentures retained by muchor zirconium mucosal inserts. Bone changes in both groups were evaluated using cone beam ct at insertion and after six and twelve months. Results: The results showed that the bone changes produced in mucosal overdenture wearers were greater than those produced in implant overdenture wearers. Conclusion: Zirconium mucosal inserts …

Postoperative Pain After Single Visit Root Canal Treatment Using Multiple Rotary Files And Single Reciprocating File Instrumentation Techniques In Asymptomatic Mandibular Molars With Necrotic Pulps: A Randomized Control Clinical Trial, Mostafa M.A. Elkholy, Kariem M. El Batouty, Ehab Hassanein Jan 2019

Postoperative Pain After Single Visit Root Canal Treatment Using Multiple Rotary Files And Single Reciprocating File Instrumentation Techniques In Asymptomatic Mandibular Molars With Necrotic Pulps: A Randomized Control Clinical Trial, Mostafa M.A. Elkholy, Kariem M. El Batouty, Ehab Hassanein

Dentistry

Aim This prospective clinical study compared postoperative pain following single visit root canal treatment in patients with asymptomatic mandibular molar teeth with necrotic pulps using two different instrumentation techniques: multi-file rotary (ProTaper Universal), and reciprocating single-file (WaveOne) techniques.

Methodology Forty patients, who fulfilled specific inclusion criteria were randomly and equally assigned to 2 groups according to the root canal instrumentation technique used. All treatments were performed in one appointment. Patients were asked to complete a numerical rating scale (NRS) for recording pain levels at 6, 12, 24, 72 h and at 1 week postoperative intervals. In addition, the Face Pain …

Deviation Between Planned And Actual Implant Positions Inserted Using Mucosa-Supported Stereolithographic Surgical Guide In Edentulous Mandible And Maxilla, Fardos N. Rizk, Marwa Sabet Prof., Omar Yehia Jan 2019

Deviation Between Planned And Actual Implant Positions Inserted Using Mucosa-Supported Stereolithographic Surgical Guide In Edentulous Mandible And Maxilla, Fardos N. Rizk, Marwa Sabet Prof., Omar Yehia

Dentistry

Purpose: estimate the deviation between the planned and the actual implant inserted using a mucosa-supported stereolithographic surgical guide in different edentulous arches and determine the effect of the arch (mandible or maxilla) on accuracy. Materials and Methods: 16 implants were placed in completely edentulous arches and divided into two groups. Group (A): Eight implants were placed in four patients in the mandible using completely limiting mucosa-supported stereolithographic (SLA) surgical guide during implant insertion. Two implants were placed in each patient intraforamina. Group (B): Eight implants were placed in Two patients in the maxilla using completely limiting mucosa-supported stereolithographic (SLA) surgical …

The Effect Of Framework Material On Partial Overdenture Supporting Structure, Sara Fikry El Shafei Jan 2019

The Effect Of Framework Material On Partial Overdenture Supporting Structure, Sara Fikry El Shafei

Dentistry

Purpose: In this study the effect of two partial denture framework materials on the bone tissues surrounding a the implants, in an implant retained partial overdenture is compared. Materials and Mehods: 12 partially edentulous patients with mandibular kennedy class I configuration were selected for this study. They were divided into two groups; Group 1 received a mandibular implant retained partial overdentures with a framework made of cobalt chromium. Group 2 received implant retained partial overdentures with a framework made of acetal resin. The results were evaluated using cone beam ct. Results: The results showed that bone changes produced in metallic …

Expression Of Endocan And Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor In Recurrent Minor Aphthous Ulcers, Enji Ahmed Mahmoud, Wesam Abdelmonem, Olfat Gamil Shaker, Dalia Mohey-Eldien Ghalwash Jan 2019

Expression Of Endocan And Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor In Recurrent Minor Aphthous Ulcers, Enji Ahmed Mahmoud, Wesam Abdelmonem, Olfat Gamil Shaker, Dalia Mohey-Eldien Ghalwash

Dentistry

Background: Recurrent aphthous ulcers (RAU) are common painful inflammatory lesions of the mucous lining of the mouth. Endocan, previously identified as endothelial cell specific molecule-1, is implicated as a vital player in the regulation of several inflammatory processes. A number of inflammatory cytokines and pro-angiogenic growth factors including VEGF upregulate endothelial cells synthesis and expression of endocan. Material and Methods: Clinical scores of pain and ulcer size as well as level of endocan and VEGF were determined in swaps from aphthous ulcer and contra lateral normal mucosa in 30 patients (nine males and twenty one females) with age ranging from …
