Effect Of Different Finish Line Designs On The Marginal And Internal Fit Of Metal Copings Made By Selective Laser Melting Technology, Adel Al Maaz Apr 2018

Effect Of Different Finish Line Designs On The Marginal And Internal Fit Of Metal Copings Made By Selective Laser Melting Technology, Adel Al Maaz

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Introduction: Marginal fit has been defined as the gap between the prepared tooth and the intaglio surface of the restoration. Internal gap is the perpendicular measurement from the internal surface of the casting to the axial wall of the preparation. Selective laser melting has been used for fabrication of metal copings such as Co-Cr base alloys and Au-Pt noble alloys. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different finish line designs on the marginal and internal fit of metal copings made from high noble, 25% noble and base alloys manufactured by SLM technology. Material and Methods: …

Effect Of Emergence Profile Of A Single Implant Restoration On The Health Of Peri-Implant Soft Tissue, Waleed Nasir Asiri Apr 2018

Effect Of Emergence Profile Of A Single Implant Restoration On The Health Of Peri-Implant Soft Tissue, Waleed Nasir Asiri

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: The specific aims of this retrospective study were 1) to compare the emergence angle of a single implant crown (SIC) of the mandibular first molar to the emergence angle of the natural contralateral tooth, 2) to evaluate the effect of the emergence angle of SIC on the health of the peri-implant soft tissue and 3) to quantify an acceptable emergence angle among SIC. Materials and methods: Ten Marquette University School of Dentistry (MUSoD) patients were included in the study. Each patient was examined clinically and plaque index (PI), probing depth (PD), and bleeding on probing (BOP) measurements were gathered …

Analysis Of Flexural Strength And Monotonic Load To Failure Following Simulated Chairside Adjustments And Repair In A Lithium Disilicate Glass-Ceramic, Ali Ramadhan Apr 2017

Analysis Of Flexural Strength And Monotonic Load To Failure Following Simulated Chairside Adjustments And Repair In A Lithium Disilicate Glass-Ceramic, Ali Ramadhan

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Introduction: There are no studies regarding e.max Press that evaluate post-adjustment healing protocols and their effect on the load to failure in a clinically relevant test. It is essential to find the ultimate treatment protocol which will help clinicians preserve the physical properties of the ceramic restoration after adjustment. Material and Methods: The total number of samples used in this study was 440 IPS e.max press discs. The discs were 15 mm in diameter and 1 mm of thickness. The material was tested for flexural strength and monotonic load to failure. The test was done in two parts and with …

Comparison Of Anterior Denture Teeth Arrangements Made With The Tooth Mold Template And Definitive Computer-Aided Design & Computer-Aided Manufacturing Complete Removable Dental Prostheses, Jose Antonio Sierra Apr 2017

Comparison Of Anterior Denture Teeth Arrangements Made With The Tooth Mold Template And Definitive Computer-Aided Design & Computer-Aided Manufacturing Complete Removable Dental Prostheses, Jose Antonio Sierra

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Introduction: There is a dearth of information in the refereed literature regarding esthetics of CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses (CRDPs). The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the anterior denture teeth arrangement made with the medium-size anterior tooth mold template to CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses fabricated with bonded denture teeth and milled teeth. Material and methods: Poly-vinyl siloxane impression were made of an edentulous maxillary model and selected for use as the patient template. The edentulous model was mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator. Definitive impressions and jaw relation records were made according to the manufacturer’s protocol. …

Wearing Complete Dental Prostheses - Effects On Perioral Morphology, Gregor F. Raschke, Philipp Eberl, Geoffrey A. Thompson, Arndt Guentsch, Andre Peisker, Stefan Schultze-Mosgau, Marta Gomez-Dammeier, Gabriel Djedovic, Ulrich M. Rieger, Florian Beuer Jul 2016

Wearing Complete Dental Prostheses - Effects On Perioral Morphology, Gregor F. Raschke, Philipp Eberl, Geoffrey A. Thompson, Arndt Guentsch, Andre Peisker, Stefan Schultze-Mosgau, Marta Gomez-Dammeier, Gabriel Djedovic, Ulrich M. Rieger, Florian Beuer

School of Dentistry Faculty Research and Publications

Background: To adequately perform rehabilitation of edentulous patients by a complete removable dental prosthesis (CRDP) is from basic interest to dentists to understand the morphologic changes caused by re-establishment of a physiologic jaw relationship. Anthropometric analyses of standardized frontal view and profile photographs may help elucidate such changes. Material and Methods: Photographs of 31 edentulous patients were compared in relaxed lip closure and after insertion of a CRDP in stable occlusion. 2232 anthropometric distances were raised. Eighteen anthropometric indices reflecting the perioral morphology and its integration in the vertical facial harmony were investigated. Results: The intercanthal – mouth width index …

Evaluation Of Die Trim Morphology Made By Cad/Cam Technology, Pratiksha Agrawal Apr 2016

Evaluation Of Die Trim Morphology Made By Cad/Cam Technology, Pratiksha Agrawal

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: The purpose of this vitro study was to evaluate the accuracy of the morphology of digitally trimmed dies in comparison with the subgingival contour of a prepared tooth to be restored with a single crown. Materials and Methods: 20 human extracted teeth, 10 incisors and 10 molars were disinfected, mounted on dentoforms. The teeth were prepared for a single all ceramic restoration. Digital impressions of the preparations were made using the 3M Lava COS. With the data, the SLA models were fabricated with removable dies. The prepared tooth and the corresponding dies were then compared with the Rhino software. …

Comparing The Vertical Misfit Of Casts Produced By Two Verification Jigs, Abdulaziz Saeed Alqahtani Jul 2014

Comparing The Vertical Misfit Of Casts Produced By Two Verification Jigs, Abdulaziz Saeed Alqahtani

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Purpose: To compare the dimensional accuracy between master casts fabricated with verification jigs made of acrylic resin and light cure Triad. Materials and Methods: 10 GC Pattern resin Pattern verifications jigs and 10 Triad gel verification jigs fabricated of a master cast of a mandibular model of 4 internal hex implants. A stone base was fabricated for each verification jig. One screw test was used to evaluate the vertical gap at the terminal abutment using a digital micrometer with an accuracy of 1μm to record the vertical gap for each sample. Results: Triad Gel group has the lowest average distortion …
