Tripod Mandibular Advancement Surgery Used In A Class Ii Malocclusion With Receding Lower Jaw, Yu-Ting Wang, Yu-Ling Cheng, Ming-Jeaun Su, Huei-Mei Tsai, Yi-Min Liu

This report concerns a relatively simple and reliable method of managing a case of maxillary dental malocclusion combined with a minor underdeveloped and receding mandible.

The chief complaint of the patient was crowded upper anterior teeth and receding chin. After a thorough examination, the patient was diagnosed with a relatively normal maxilla with a slightly small mandible. Impacted upper left canine and missing lower central incisors were noted.

The main treatment goal was to combine surgery and orthodontics to gain the most benefit of treatment. Tripod mandibular advancing surgery (TMAS) plus genioplasty was used as a single-jaw intervention. Orthodontic mechanotherapy, …

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treated With Maxillomandibular Advancement Surgery By Computer-Assisted Simulation, Bing-Luen Yang, Yu-Feng Chen, Szu-Ting Chou, Yu-Chuan Tseng

This 23-year-old female patient was diagnosed as a severe type of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), skeletal Class II jaw relation with mandibular deficiency, hyper divergent facial pattern, dental Class II malocclusion, midline deviation and occlusal plane canting. By the assistance of virtual surgical simulation and maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) approaching, patient was satisfied the improvement of functional and esthetic changes after the 18-months treatment.
