Abstract
Aim: To compare the success rate regarding esthetics, parenteral satisfaction, and oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL) after treatment of early childhood caries with Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)compared to conventional Glass ionomer Restoration (CGI).
Materials and Methods: We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA statement by searching on the following electronic databases: PubMed, Cochrane.
Results: From the studies included in this systematic review, two studies showed significant difference in color stability between SDF and CGI. Two studies showed no significant difference in parental satisfaction with either SDF or Glass Ionomer. Regarding the Oral Health Related Quality of Life, …

Aim: This study investigated the effect of preparation design and thermal cycling on the marginal accuracy of hybrid ceramic laminate veneers. Materials and Methods: A total of twenty 3D printed dies of central incisors prepared with 2 preparation designs; butt joint and palatal wrap design were fabricated. Each type of preparation was assigned into 2 subgroups (n=5/each subgroup) according to the type of material used for fabrication of the laminate veneer; hybrid ceramic and lithium disilicate (served as control). Marginal discrepancy was evaluated using a digital microscope before and after thermocycling. Results: Statistically analysis of marginal gaps revealed that before …

Abstract:
Introduction: Orthodontist tend to use one of the 2 bracket slot sizes available either the 0.018” or 0.022” bracket slot. Till now there is no reliable scientific evidence that indicates if any of them has a superior effect on the duration of teeth alignment. The aim of this study is to compare alignment duration between 0.018 and 0.022-inch bracket slot systems.
Subjects and methods: 14 Eligible participants having an age range of 14-22 years were randomly allocated to 2 groups (7 in each group). Group I: 0.018-inch and Group II: 0.022-inch slot (American orthodontics Mini master Roth prescription …

ABSTRACT
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy and reliability in measuring anchorage loss, molar rotation, and total amount of retraction using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and to compare them with the same measurements obtained using digitally scanned dental models. Materials and methods: 24 patients requiring comprehensive orthodontic treatment including extraction of 1st premolars with maximum anchorage using enmasse retraction. CBCTs were undertaken on the same 24 patients using InVivoDental software for measurement. The digital cast was made using alginate impressions, from which virtual 3D models will be created and measured using 3Shape analyzer software. Orthodontic measurements will …

Abstract
Objective: To assess the accuracy of Dolphin Imaging software in predicting upper jaw profile changes in class II patients treated by extraction and non-extraction.
Methods: The records of 60 Class II div 1 patients were selected; 30 patients treated by extraction of upper first premolar and 30 patients treated by non-extraction. The Pre- and post-treatment lateral cephalometric x-rays of each patient were traced using Dolphin software. The actual hard tissue changes due to treatment were calculated and installed into the prediction module to generate the predicted profile. The soft tissue measurements of the actual post-treatment and predicted profiles were …

Aim: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease with insulin deficiency or dysfunction. Notably, T2DM also has clinical and radiological implications in the oral region. This study aims to evaluate the changes in decay, missed, and filled teeth (DMFT) indexes on panoramic radiographs of T2DM patients at the end of a five-year follow-up and compare them with the control group.
Materials and Methods: Two panoramic radiographs taken five years (mean 5.32±0.24) apart from each of the 92 patients (46 T2DM and 46 healthy) were evaluated. The DMFT index was calculated in a total of 184 panoramic …

Background: Molar incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) has become a more widespread problem around the world, while its prevalence in Egypt is underestimated with no data on its correlation to Hypomineralization of Second Primary Molars (HSPM). Aim: Estimate the prevalence of MIH and HSPM in Egypt, investigate the possibility of HSPM being a predictive factor for MIH, and the probable etiological factors for MIH. Material and Methods: Three hundred and seventeen healthy children aged seven to ten years old were dentally examined for Molar Incisor Hypomineralization and Hypomineralization of Second Primary Molars and all potentially correlated etiological factors. Both MIH and HSPM …

This study investigated the effect of bleaching on color change of the single shade universal composite (Omnichroma) versus nano-filled resin composite (Z350 XT).
Methods: Twenty premolars of shade A3 were used for the study. Standardized class V cavities were prepared on the cervical third of the buccal surface of all teeth. After that, teeth were randomly divided into two groups of 10 teeth each according to the type of resin composite used. After composite application, all teeth were stored individually in distilled water for 24 hours. Evaluation of the restoration color was done using VITA Easyshade. The teeth were bleached …

Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted. Self-administered structured questionnaire ( PSDQ) contains 32 statements regarding different parent reactions to child behavior, and participants rated responses to each item using a five-point likert scale from “never” to “always” (coded 1 to 5).The target population consisted of 105 children with their parents in Faculty of Dentistry, Future University aged 3-6 years old. The highest mean score placed the parent in the proper parenting category. The child behavior was assessed using the Frankl scale …

Aim of the study: Is to compare the effects of smoking T-cigs and vaping E-cigs on clinical periodontal parameters in patients.Materials and Methods: It consisted of a clinical examination of a total of 60 individuals aged between 29 and 39 years. They responded to a questionnaire about their smoking history, and they were divided into 2 groups as E-cig vapers and T-cig smokers. Full-mouth plaque index (PI),bleeding on probing (BOP),clinical attachment loss (AL),and probing depth (PD) were measured at six sites per tooth on all maxillary and mandibular teeth except third molars. Results: T-cigarette had significantly higher probing depth, …

Abstract:
Introduction: Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation (MIH) is one of qualitative DED. MIH is increasing dramatically in the new generations, which is considered to be challenging for the majority of dentists. MIH was found to be prevalent in 14.2% of the world's population, with the high incidence 18% in South America and the least (10.9%) in Africa. This study was carried out to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of graduated Egyptian dentists' group regarding MIH condition and compare the outcome information among different dental specialists.
Material and methods: A google based questionnaire based on previously validated published papers distributed electronically …

Abstract:
This study tested the effect of different etching methods on the bond strength of a universal adhesive system to caries-affected (CAD)and sound dentin. Methods: forty premolars were wet grinded to expose flat occlusal midcoronal dentin. Specimens were equally divided according to the substrate; sound and (CAD) by exposing to pH-cycling for 14 days. Each dentin substrate was bonded with Single BondTM universal adhesive applied either after no etching or etching of dentin, then resin composite was built up. Specimens were tested for shear bond strength (SBS). The data was analyzed by two-ways ANOVA. Results: Single BondTM universal …

Aim: To compare the radicular dentin thickness before and after instrumentation by manual stainless-steel (K-files) versus rotary files (AF™ Baby File) at coronal, middle, and apical thirds using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).
Materials and Methods: Forty roots of extracted mandibular primary molars were collected, and randomly and equally divided into 2 groups. Manual Group was prepared by K-files, and Rotary Group was prepared by rotary AF™ Baby File system. Samples were decapitated and stabilized in epoxy resin blocks. Samples were subjected to CBCT scan before and after instrumentation for radicular dentin thickness evaluation at 3 measuring points; apical, …
