This investigation was a qualitative study focused on soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) in Baños and Puyo, Ecuador. The perceptions of the communities regarding STHs and the community response to STH and STH infections was studied. The objectives of this study aimed to discover and learn about the perceptions of STHs from the affected communities, to comprehend the barriers that are present against better treatment for STH infections, and to learn about the community action taking place to improve the situation of soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) in the community. Approximately 80% of rural communities in Tanzania utilize the services of traditional healers. This is largely because modern medicine is often expensive, inaccessible, or has undesirable side effects. This study investigates use of traditional medicine in Morogoro Urban district where people do have access to hospitals. In particular, this study aims to assess the utilization and accessibility the plant species Securinega virosa for medicinal use by identifying and interviewing the actors involved in the supply chain from harvester to consumer. The Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua is a region that has historically been subject to colonization through severe environmental degradation, ethnic cleansing, exploitation of work, and an imposing language. Within this oppression, indigenous and afrodescendent communities of the Atlantic Coast, formally known as RAACS (South Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region), have lost centuries worth of language, tradition, and homes in just a few decades. My documentary looks at how communities resist an imposing government and globalization through the revitalization of their traditions, specifically traditional medicine.
