Effect Of Breed On Growth Performance And Carcass Quality Attributes Of Apparentlyhealthy Male Weanling Rabbits Under A Conventional Housing System, Sahar Suleman, Shahid Ali Khan, Muhammad Haris Aziz

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The present work was devised with an objective to assess growth performance and carcass quality attributes of male weanling rabbits of 5 different rabbit breeds (Dutch, New Zealand white rabbit, American black, wild, and dwarf brown) under a conventional housing system. Male weanling rabbits (n = 50; 10 per breed), weaned at about 4 weeks of age were studied for growth performance and carcass quality attributes at the 19th week of experimentation. The initial and slaughter weights of the animals were significantly (P ≤ 0.05) different for all breeds, with the highest values noticed in wild rabbits (940.1 ± 48.2 …

Effects Of Sugar Beet Pulp Based Total Mixed Ration On Growth Performance And Blood Profile Status In Male Nili Ravi Buffalo Calves, Saeed Ahmed, Faisal Shahzad, Hifz-Ul- Rahman, Muhammad Rajab Jan 2020

Effects Of Sugar Beet Pulp Based Total Mixed Ration On Growth Performance And Blood Profile Status In Male Nili Ravi Buffalo Calves, Saeed Ahmed, Faisal Shahzad, Hifz-Ul- Rahman, Muhammad Rajab

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Sugar beet pulp is comprised of highly digestible fibre that improves the growth rate in calves. The research was conducted to explore the effects of varying levels of sugar beet pulp (SBP) based total mixed ration (TMR) on growth performance and blood metabolites in buffalo male calves. Three TMRs were formulated based on quantity of SBP added i.e. 0% (TMR1), 15% (TMR2), 30% (TMR3) and assigned to 3 different groups (n = 6) of calves for a period of 60 days under a completely randomized statistical design. Calves were fed iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric ration as 3% of BW/day on dry …

Evaluation Of Mulberry (Morus Alba) Leaves As A Concentrate Substitute In Rabbit Diet:Effect On Growth Performance And Meat Quality, Kamran Khan, Inam Ullah, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Sarzamin Khan Jan 2020

Evaluation Of Mulberry (Morus Alba) Leaves As A Concentrate Substitute In Rabbit Diet:Effect On Growth Performance And Meat Quality, Kamran Khan, Inam Ullah, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Sarzamin Khan

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Mulberry (Morus alba) leaves contain a high amount of digestible carbohydrates, protein and minerals, making it an attractive, natural, low-cost feed ingredient in rabbit rations. The present study evaluated the effect of stepwise replacement of a concentrate diet with wilted M. alba leaves on growth performance and meat quality of rabbits. Sixty indigenous rabbits (age, 36 ± 2 days) were assigned to 5 diets (12 rabbits per diet). The 5 diets consisted of a commercial concentrate diet (control; WML0), and stepwise replacement of the concentrate with 25% (WML25), 50% (WML50), 75% (WML75), and 100% (WML100) wilted M. alba leaves. Final …

Growth Performance, Survival Rate, Flesh, And Proximate Composition Of Sex-Grouped Triploid And Diploid Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus), Akhmad Taufiq Mukti, Odang Carman, Alimuddin Alimuddin, Muhammad Zairin Jr., Muhammad Agus Suprayudi Jan 2020

Growth Performance, Survival Rate, Flesh, And Proximate Composition Of Sex-Grouped Triploid And Diploid Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus), Akhmad Taufiq Mukti, Odang Carman, Alimuddin Alimuddin, Muhammad Zairin Jr., Muhammad Agus Suprayudi

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study aimed to compare the growth performance, survival rate, flesh, and proximate composition of sex-grouped triploid and diploid Nile tilapia. The triploid population was obtained through heat shock at 41 ºC for 4 min, 4 min after fertilization. Before sexing, 50 fish were reared in aquaria at a density of 1 fish L$^{-1}$ for 2 months. After sexing, both triploid and diploid fish were grouped into all-male, all-female, and mixed-sex groups and reared in hapas at a density of 10 fish m$^{-2}$ for 4 months. Each group was replicated three times. The highest body weight, body length, and growth …
