A Grounded Theory Model Of Mother Role Development While In The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Kathy B. Isaacs
A Grounded Theory Model Of Mother Role Development While In The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Kathy B. Isaacs
Theses and Dissertations--Nursing
When a woman discovers that she is pregnant, she begins a process of internal work to develop her mother role. This process has been outlined in the literature for the delivery of a healthy full-term baby, however little is known about the process for mothers of medically fragile babies. A threatened pregnancy and subsequent delivery of a medically fragile baby involves a different process of internal work by the mother to prepare for her role. Mothers with a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience stress, uncertainty, and anxiety potentially causing a permanent impact on the successful development …
Utility Of Real-Time Ultrasound-Guided Central Venous Catheterization In Infant Patients In Interventional Radiology At Kcmh, P Kiatrungruangdee, N Pinjaroen, J. Tantivattana
Utility Of Real-Time Ultrasound-Guided Central Venous Catheterization In Infant Patients In Interventional Radiology At Kcmh, P Kiatrungruangdee, N Pinjaroen, J. Tantivattana
Chulalongkorn Medical Journal
Background : Central venous catheterization (CVC) is an essential procedure in critical care of pediatric patients.Ultrasound-guided CVC shows higher success rate and lower complication rate than conventional anatomical landmark guidance, and has been routinely performed in Interventional Radiology unit, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) for many years. Focusing on infant patient, we want to know the outcomes at our hospital. Objective : To study the outcomes (success rate, complications and complication rate) of using real-time ultrasound-guided CVC in infant patients at KCMH. Design : Retrospective study. Setting : Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. Methods : We retrospectively …
How Do We Safely Treat Pneumopericardium In A Severely Ill Baby?, Osman Başpinar, Mehmet Boşnak
How Do We Safely Treat Pneumopericardium In A Severely Ill Baby?, Osman Başpinar, Mehmet Boşnak
Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences
Tension pneumopericardium in an infant is a rare but potentially fatal event. In the present study, we describe a new technique to drain the air from the pericardial sac of a critically ill baby. We performed this drainage via the subxiphoid approach in the Trendelenburg position rather than the anti-Trendelenburg position.
