The purpose of the study was to explore the effects of exercise training on cardiopulmonary endurance and depression status of hemodialysis patients. The purposive sample was recruited from a medical center in southern Taiwan. A total of forty hemodialysis patients were assigned into the experimental and control groups. Twenty patients in the experimental group underwent a 30-50 minutes, three times a week, stationary bicycle training during off-dialysis period for eight weeks.
