Rowan-Virtua Research Day
Aims
This review aims to assess the correlations between outcomes and cost of treatment methods for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients, specifically comparing CAR T-cell therapy and Standard-of-Care (SoC) therapy. The socioeconomic background of patients will also be taken into consideration to see if there are differences in their outcomes.
Methods
Peer-reviewed publications were collected from PubMed and Web of Science. The keyword strings used were “acute lymphoblastic leukemia,” “pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia,” “pediatric,” “CAR T-cell therapy,” and “cost-effectiveness.” 27 citations were obtained. Titles were screened by 6 authors. Articles met the inclusion criteria including potential Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY) …
Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment Effects On Neurocognitive Development, Peyton Lee Crowder
Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment Effects On Neurocognitive Development, Peyton Lee Crowder
Epsilon Sigma at-Large Research Conference
Introduction
The problem at hand is understanding if pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment affects neurocognitive function or development. As the children battle ALL and are given treatments such as cranial radiation therapy and chemotherapy, they are having issues later on in life because the treatment regimens are very strong and are given during a crucial period of development.
Purpose Statement and Question
Does one pediatric treatment option affect neurocognitive development more than another later in life?
Literature Review
Research was conducted online via Google Scholar and East Tennessee State University Library database. Key terms used were pediatric ALL and …

UBT International Conference
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is known as a heterogeneous disease. The progress is possible to make in understanding of biological mechanism who play pivotal role in the development of therapies. Here I will try to summarize the current and future possibilities of management of adult and children ALL. Many inhibitors are used to inhibit tyrosine kinase, chimeric antigen receptor and gene therapy for cure of ALL. The FDA has approved a number of drugs for treatment of children who are sick from ALL. Currently, is known that long term of survival is achieved in more than 50% of patients with …
