Objectives To evaluate the flapless thyroidectomy technique in reducing postoperative seroma. Background The incidence of seroma after thyroidectomy has been reported to be between 1.3 and 7%. The history of thyroid surgery reflects evolution of surgery itself, but shifting the focus toward less invasive techniques has resulted in the emergence of minimally invasive approaches for the thyroid compartment. Flapless technique for thyroid surgery may reduce the incidence of postoperative seroma.
