There is no shortage of therapeutic modalities and interventions at the therapist’s disposal. Psychotherapy, because it claims to treat the individual, is necessarily multifaceted and complex. The dimension of language which structures much of our experience should be considered as a starting point for a psychotherapeutic technique. French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan developed a theory and technique of the talking cure beginning from this assumption: that language structures our experience. Background: The aim of our research was to determine the contest effectiveness of Japanese judo competitors and to state the quantitative an qualitative indices of the tactical-technical preparation (PTT). The values of these indices may be used for controlling the process of special preparation. Materials and methods: Medal classification of the national teams from all Olympic Games and World Championships, and contest effectiveness of the national teams during 2007–2010 were determined. Background: The aim of the study was to determine differences in the efficiency of executing technical actions by female volleyball players taking into account their positions on the court. Material/Methods: The research material comprised results of the efficiency of female volleyball players’ technical actions (n = 98) participating in the 2015 Women’s European Volleyball Championship. The subjects were divided into five groups: receivers, middle blockers, spikers, setters, and liberoes. The following technical actions were analysed: attack, block, serve, and receiving a serve. An investigation of his philosophical assumptions, locating Stern’s work socioculturally and historically, along with an elucidation of Stern’s background in traditional psychoanalytic literature and clinical practice, brings out the meanings and enigmas present in his theories of dissociation, enactment, unformulated experience, multiple self-states, and reflection. Background: Obstructive sleep apnoea is a common condition that is unfortunately associated with a high rate of patient non-compliance regarding device use. Newer surgical interventions have focused on procedures at the palate level, using variants of palatoplasty and transpalatal advancement. However, the extent of tongue reduction surgery required remains controversial. The authors propose an in-between variant that combines midline glossectomy resection (with minimal mucosal sacrifice) and lateral coblation tongue channelling.
