Murine Models For The Study Of Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Yudith Cauna Orocollo, Ariana Alessandra Córdova Salazar, Jhanina Campos Tineo

Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana

The study of different variables, such as pathogenesis, inflammatory profile, identification of therapeutic targets, efficacy of treatments in murine models has proven to be one of the most practical for the preclinical study of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), the most aggressive subtype of cancer, with limited application of treatments and low survival rate. However, it must be recognized that there are other minors in which the induction of TNBC is being standardized. This review encompasses the different induction methods that have allowed the development of TNBC and the most relevant therapeutic applications by which murine models with TNBC were …

Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana

Objective: Identify associated factors with emergence delirium in children in the Post-Anesthetic Recovery Unit of a Pediatric Health Specialized Institute in Peru. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in children from 2 to 6 years old, physical status classification I and II, in elective procedures under anesthesia. The main variable was the presence of emergence delirium evaluated with the Pediatric Anesthesia Emergence Delirium scale greater than or equal to 10 points. To identify the factors associated with delirium, the Poisson regression model was applied and a p value < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Of the 150 children, it was found that the incidence of emergence delirium occurred in 10.6%. Of these, 81.4% were under 5 years of age, pain was significantly associated in 37.5% with PR = 3.63, 95%CI [1.20, 10.1] and it was observed that 68, 8% required palliative care. Conclusion: Pain was associated with delirium of postanesthetic emergence in children. Prevention and treatment of emergence delirium should focus on postoperative pain control and careful monitoring of patients after surgery.

Clinical case: We present the case of a 64-year-old man with a history of cataract surgery, who presented decreased visual acuity and pain in the right eye. The ophthalmological examination revealed signs of anterior uveitis, elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), microhyphema, and a single-piece foldable IOL in the sulcus that caused a mechanical chafing with the posterior face of the iris. The medical treatment was insufficient, for this reason a folding simple-piece IOL explant surgery was performed …

It is believed that it affects male fertility because Andean men associate it with impotence and decreased fertility. Studies conducted on rats fed with "mashua" showed that there was a 45% decrease in the testosterone/dihydrotestosterone ratio. The effect of this plant on reproduction is related to its content of isothiocyanates, compounds that covalently bind to proteins, which may be directly or indirectly involved in the spermatogenic process. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of the aqueous …
