Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounding: Patient Satisfaction With Nursing Communication And Decreased Hospital Readmissions, Luanne Parks
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
There is a lack of quality communication among health care professionals and patients in the hospital setting, which can negatively impact patient satisfaction and increase hospital readmission rates. Interdisciplinary bedside rounding (IBR) is a method of rounding that uses direct communication and discussion of the patient at the bedside, and the use of IRB may improve the quality communication among health care professionals and patients. The purpose of this program outcomes evaluation project was to evaluate whether IBR increased patient satisfaction with nursing communication and if IBR decreased hospital readmission rates. The Iowa model of evidence-based practice provided a framework …
Perceived Patient Satisfaction With Hospital Services And Interventions, Marietta Abernathy
Perceived Patient Satisfaction With Hospital Services And Interventions, Marietta Abernathy
Nursing Theses and Capstone Projects
The patient and family voice should be heard in the healthcare setting. Gaining knowledge and insight from a parent of a pediatric patient will allow hospital staff and administrators to see the hospital experience from the vantage point of a patient and family member (Uhl, Fisher, Docherty, & Brandon, 2013). It is important to continually review feedback and suggestions from families of pediatric patients to improve the care of future patients. Ultimately, this will improve patient satisfaction scores, but most importantly, it will improve the experience of pediatric patients (Creating patient and family advisory councils, 2010). The investigator interviewed ten …

The Relationship Between Nurses' Emotional Intelligence And Patient Outcomes, Mary Kutash
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Heart Failure readmissions (HFR) significantly contribute to all cause hospital readmissions rates. Current evidence on the effectiveness of interventions for reduction of HFR is inconclusive. Recent research suggests that nurses’ emotional intelligence (EI) may be associated with better patient outcomes.
The purpose of this study was to examine if nurses’ EI is significantly related to HFR and if that relationship is mediated through patient satisfaction with care. One hundred and thirty six Registered Nurses were recruited from 11 in-patient units at a large teaching hospital in the south eastern United States. Two surveys were mailed to eligible participants; the Bar-On …
