Background Midwifery education is under-invested in developing countries with limited opportunities for midwifery educators to improve/maintain their core professional competencies. To improve the quality of midwifery education and capacity for educators to update their competencies, a blended midwifery educator-specific continuous professional development (CPD) programme was designed with key stakeholders. This study evaluated the feasibility of this programme in Kenya and Nigeria.

Following coach training for College of Medicine faculty and leadership, the benefits of coaching for inculcating the habit of self-reflection to find one’s truth and create learning paths was recognized. While there was unanimous agreement to implement coaching for medical students, the contributing factors for the success of or barriers to academic medical coaching programs were ambiguous. We embarked on a scoping review to understand how coaching is being used for medical learners, and will share our process and preliminary discoveries.

Interprofessional relationships are important to the productivity of healthcare teams, especially as collaborative approaches become increasingly common in the healthcare setting. This paper focuses on the impacts of interprofessionalism and interprofessional education on healthcare teams collaborations. Drawing from a mixed-methods approach, data was gathered through an online survey and interviews conducted at the UNMC GOODLIFE Clinic, a student-run clinic. Findings reveal differences in perceptions between post-graduate professionals and students regarding the role and importance of interprofessionalism. Dercum’s disease, also known as adiposis dolorosa, is a rare syndrome characterized by the growth of multiple, and painful, subcutaneous adipose tissues that commonly present in the abdomen and extremities. The scientific community hypothesizes that Dercum’s disease is a combination of neurologic and endocrine disorders. Patients commonly describe it as chronic adipose pain, which manifests as sporadic painful flares throughout their history with the disease.

This study aimed to explore the barriers to the role of hospital pharmacists and related facilitators encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Pharmacists in Malaysia participated in a cross-sectional online questionnaire-based survey. The participants were recruited using convenient sampling. Cronbach alpha of the questionnaire was analyzed.

BACKGROUND: Inpatient falls are affecting 1 million patients across the United States every year with 25% of fall resulting in injury. Approximately 25% of falls are preventable with accurate assessment and appropriate fall precaution interventions. According to the literature, obtaining an accurate fall risk assessment is the first step in inpatient fall prevention.

LOCAL PROBLEM: Patient falls increased on 2 cardiac stepdown units in a level III trauma center in Knoxville, Tennessee. From 2020- 2022, the combined units experienced a 48% increase in patient falls. There are many complexities regarding the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines, mainly because the COVID-19 vaccine had a fast track of development compared to vaccines developed in the past years. The purpose of this study is to understand COVID-19 vaccine perception and hesitancy among uninsured free clinic patients using the theory of planned behavior. In Students for Fair Admissions v. President & Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina, the Supreme Court ruled that affirmative action in university admissions, in which an applicant of a particular race or ethnicity receives a plus factor, is unconstitutional. This ruling was based on both the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
