This study examines the effect of the fossil fuels consumption and the renewable energy to the economic growth in Lebanon using multiple linear regression using time series fixed effect model method over the period 1990–2012. The results showed that the fossil energy consumption has a positive impact on the economic growth while the renewable energy consumption with negative coefficient. Other control variable as the real gross fixed capital formation and the labor force have positive coefficient while the urbanization has negative coefficient and statistically significant. Metformin is one of the most widely prescribed oral ant diabetic drugs, it is generally used for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The organic caution transporter 1(OCT1), encoded by the SLC22A1 gene is responsible for the uptake of metformin in the hepatocytes. Polymorphisms in SLC22A1 gene contribute to variable responses to metformin leading to inter-individual variations in its clinical efficacy. The purpose of this research was to evaluate a kaolin clay obtained from local Lebanese source after being subjected to thermal treatment. A sample of kaolin clay was collected from local resources and subjected to a treatment process for enhancing its pozzolanic properties. The treated sample was characterized through testing procedure as per ASTM C311. It was found that the physical and chemical properties were in compliance with the relevant ASTM C618 standard. Background & Aim: Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) is an important outcome that reflectsthe impact of chronic diseases on patients’ wellbeing. There is a paucity of studies on HRQoL and obesity in Arab-speaking countries. Therefore we aimed to investigate this outcome in this population. Mono- and tri-vanadium-substituted Keggin-type heteropolyoxoanions [SiW12O40]4- and[PW12O40] 4- were evaluated as photocatalysts for the photodegradation of three hazardous food pesticides: Atrazine, Chlorpyrifos and Dieldrin. Kinetic experiments were performed under UV irradiation at 254nm. The degradation of each pesticide was assessed by investigating its disappearance with time using High Performance Liquid Chromatography c o n n e c t e d to an Ultra-Violet s p e c t r o p h o t ome t e r d e t e c t o r (HPLC-UV).
