Hospital readmissions during pregnancy nationwide impacts maternal health outcomes elevating the risk of maternal deaths after discharge. The accessibility and affordability of necessary prenatal care is integral to the field of health across the lifespan. Socioeconomic barriers within rural locations place expecting mothers at an adverse risk of developing conditions including preeclampsia and other complications that may result in hospital readmission. This proposal advocates for implementing mandatory mindfulness and stress reduction training sessions for surgical students at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). It is well-documented that medical students, particularly those in surgical disciplines, experience high levels of stress, which can negatively impact their mental health, academic performance and overall well-being. Mindfulness-based interventions have shown promise in reducing stress and enhancing resilience among medical students. Aboriginal communities are impacted by high rates of diabetes, however these are currently underestimated by national data sources used by policy and decision makers to inform allocation of health resources. We aimed to estimate diabetes prevalence and screening coverage using primary care electronic medical record data.

Methods
A cross-sectional audit was conducted using primary care data from Aboriginal regular Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) clinic attendees aged 15 years and over (n=1763) in five remote communities in the Kimberley region. A study conducted in 2019 showed that approximately 50% of the 187 million patients in the US health care system did not follow their medication plan as prescribed. This means they failed to adhere to the drug regimen or to take the medication for the entire prescribed duration. Adherence rates for most medications used to treat chronic conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, usually fall in the range of 50% to 60%, even with patients who have good insurance and drug benefits. BACKGROUND: Public-private partnerships (PPP) are often how health improvement programs are implemented in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs). We therefore aimed to systematically review the literature about the aim and impacts of quality improvement (QI) approaches in PPP in LMICs.

METHODS: We searched SCOPUS and grey literature for studies published before March 2022. One reviewer screened abstracts and full-text studies for inclusion. The study characteristics, setting, design, outcomes, and lessons learned were abstracted using a standard tool and reviewed in detail by a second author.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) poses significant morbidity and mortality in hospitals. Rapid, accurate risk stratification of MRSA is crucial for optimizing antibiotic therapy. Our study introduced a deep learning model, PyTorch_EHR, which leverages electronic health record (EHR) time-series data, including wide-variety patient specific data, to predict MRSA culture positivity within two weeks. 8,164 MRSA and 22,393 non-MRSA patient events from Memorial Hermann Hospital System, Houston, Texas are used for model development. IMPORTANCE: Lack of timely follow-up of cancer-related abnormal test results can lead to delayed or missed diagnoses, adverse cancer outcomes, and substantial cost burden for patients. Care delivery models, such as the Veterans Affairs' (VA) Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT), which aim to improve patient-centered care coordination, could potentially also improve timely follow-up of abnormal test results. PACT was implemented nationally in the VA between 2010 and 2012.

Background

End-of-life (EOL) wounds are identified in the literature as Kennedy Terminal Ulcers (KTU), Skin Failure (SF), Trombley-Brennan Terminal Tissue Injury (TB-TTI), and SCALE (Skin Changes at Life’s End). EOL wounds have a similar appearance to pressure injuries (PIs) with a fundamentally different etiology. The misclassification of EOL wounds as PIs results in increased Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI), hospital fines, and less-than-optimal EOL wound management.

RSKD started using electronic medical records (eMR) in 2020.
