Postthaw survival of spermatozoa with high motility and vitality is required for successful artificial insemination. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of two different thawing methods on motility, morphology, kinematic parameters, and viability of spermatozoa with a computer-assisted semen analyzer (CASA). The purpose of this study was to highlight the effects of natural plant essential oils (EOs) on sous-vide sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) fillets. Three different treatments were prepared by addition of: 1) no essential oil (C), 2) laurel (Laurus nobilis) EO (L), and 3) basil (Ocimum basilicum) EO (B). In general, incorporation of the EOs did not cause significant changes in the proximate composition (P > 0.05). The addition of L caused a darker and more greenish-yellow colour, while addition of B did not have a considerable alteration in colour parameters. In this study, nutrient composition and use of silage after harvest of waste green parts (herbage) of tomato ( Licopersicon esculentum L.) were researched as a wet forage source for ruminants. Three different silages of tomato herbage: without additive (TS), with 5% sugar beet molasses (TSm), or 5% crushed barley grain (TSb) were prepared. The aim of this study was to determine the genetic variation of MYF-5 and STAT5A genes in Anatolian water buffalo which was the only buffalo breed reared in Turkey by using the PCR-RFLP method. In this study, 120 Anatolian water buffalo were examined. After PCR amplification for MYF-5 gene, 512 bp PCR products were digested with TaqI enzyme. Although no AA genotype was found, the frequency of GG and AG genotypes were 0.77 and 0.33. The present study aimed to establish a TaqMan probe real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) for detecting Bovine parvovirus (BPV), and to develop a novel diagnostic method of BPV. TaqMan probe and primers were designed and synthesized from the sequences of conserved 5?-untranslated regions (5'-UTR) of strain Haden of BPV. Optimum reaction conditions were comparatively selected. The sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility of TaqMan probe qRT-PCR were measured respectively. Feces specimens collected from diarrhea calves were detected using this assay. Transportation of broilers from different localities to the processing plants is a critical step in the farm to fork chain, and any disturbance in this chain may result in worst consequences. Haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) is one of the economically most important bacterial diseases of large ruminants. In the present investigation, a total of 156 buffaloes (Murrah, Jafarabadi, and Bhadawari breeds) at a semiorganized farm after administration of HS alum precipitated killed vaccine were screened serologically for the presence of anti-HS antibodies by single dilution indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA). Out of 156 buffaloes tested for presence of anti-HS antibodies, a greater proportion of buffalo (67.94%) had protective level of anti-HS antibodies even after 90th day post vaccination.

An 11-year-old intact female chow chow dog was presented for evaluation of intermittent vomiting and anorexia for a month. On ultrasonographic examination, gastric pylorus hypertrophy which compressed common bile duct was identified. The gallbladder was significantly enlarged and mucocele was suspected. Cholecystectomy and gastric full thickness biopsy were performed and gastric adenocarcinoma was diagnosed by histopathological examination. Billroth II gastrojejunostomy using thoracoabdominal-stapler (TAstapler) was performed. On surgery, hypertrophied tissue suspected of tumour was also found adjacent to the major duodenal papilla. Canine cranial cruciate ligament ruptures have become common with improved nutrition and nonselective breeding strategies. This study assessed 7 dogs of various breeds and ages with the diagnosis of cranial cruciate ligament ruptures. The triple tibial osteotomy (TTO) method was used to treat the rupture. All of the dogs were admitted to the clinic for varying degrees of lameness. Diagnosis was confirmed using both clinical and radiologic examinations. This study aimed to investigate Mycoplasma species by cultural and molecular methods in 250 pneumonics and 30 healthy appearance sheep lungs brought from slaughterhouse and butcheries in the Kars region of Turkey. The phylogenetic positioning of the bacterial strains to be obtained in the present study was another remarkable outcome of the study. Mycoplasma isolation was achieved solely in 26 (10.4%) of 250 sheep lungs with pneumonia. The aim of this study is the development of a coagglutination test for rapid diagnosis of infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) virus which causes an acute infectious viral disease with high mortality in young salmonid fish. Serotypes Sp, Ab, WB of the IPNV were cultivated in BF-2 cells and purified by linear sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The purpose of this study is to investigate resistance to antibiotics of Staphylococcus species isolated from various samples belonging to different animal species. Among 48 Staphylococcus spp. strains, Staphylococcus intermedius was the most common species, followed by S. aureus, S. epidermidis, S. hyicus, S. saprophyticus. In a total of 48 Staphylococcus strains, the highest antibiotic resistance was observed to oxacillin (79.17%), tetracycline (39.58%), and ampicillin and cefoxitin (31.25%). Of 48 Staphylococcus strains, 42 showed resistance to at least one antimicrobial agent, while 23 of the strains had multidrug resistance.
