The Comparison Of Botanical Composition And The Condition And Health Class Of Different Rangeland Sites In Forest Ecosystem, Emre Çomakli, Mehmet Keri̇m Güllap, Tuğba Çomakli, Adnan Bi̇lgi̇li̇

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

In this study conducted in Erzurum province's Oltu district Kırdağı location during 2015, 2016 and 2017 concerning the above forest, forest interior and forest edge rangeland sites, the botanical composition of rangeland sites, canopy coverage rate, rangeland condition scores, and comparison of the condition of rangeland and the health class were emphasized. According to the results, although the grass and legume rations in the forest edge rangeland was lower, the others families? ratio was higher than that of the other sites. Hence, it was determined that the ratio of canopy coverage rate was higher in the forest top rangelandsite compared …

Ecology, Toxicity, And Hydrolytic Activities Of Bacillus Thuringiensis In Forests, Fouad Al-Momani, Maher Obeidat Jan 2013

Ecology, Toxicity, And Hydrolytic Activities Of Bacillus Thuringiensis In Forests, Fouad Al-Momani, Maher Obeidat

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The investigation of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) in 16 forest soil samples from Ajloun, northern Jordan, involved the isolation of 23 isolates toxic to the third instar dipteran larvae of Drosophila melanogaster and 7 isolates toxic to the third instar lepidopteran larvae of Ephestia kuehniella. The highest viable count of Bt was found in Ebeen forest soils (14.24 × 10^7 CFU g^{-1}), and the lowest viable count was found in Rasoun forest soils. The lethal concentration (LC_{50}) of Bt isolates indicated a variation in their toxicity to D. melanogaster and E. kuehniella larvae, with lower LC_{50} values for D. melanogaster suggesting …

Total Carbon Stocks And Carbon Accumulation In Living Tree Biomass In Forest Ecosystems Of Turkey, Doğanay Tolunay Jan 2011

Total Carbon Stocks And Carbon Accumulation In Living Tree Biomass In Forest Ecosystems Of Turkey, Doğanay Tolunay

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

In this study, the carbon stocks of forests of Turkey were examined by taking the national forest inventory completed in 2004 as a basis. Furthermore, the annual accumulations of carbon in the above- and below-ground biomass of Turkey were also investigated according to the gain-loss methods of "Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use" (AFOLU), published in 2006. The results of estimates showed that the total stock in all carbon pools (above- and below-ground, dead wood, litter, and soil) in the forests of Turkey was 2251.26 Tg C in 2004. Of that total carbon stock, 74.78% was in soil, 21.32% in …
