Until now, there have been only three studies of marine tardigrades from South Carolina, USA. The Fall 2015 invertebrate zoology class from Warren Wilson College collected four sediment samples from Huntington Beach State Park: shallow beach sand, deep beach sand, shallow salt marsh sediment, and deep salt marsh sediment. No tardigrades were found in the salt marsh, but two species were found in the beach samples. Batillipes pennaki Marcus, 1946 was found in shallow and deep beach sand, and three specimens of a potentially new species of Stygarctus Schulz, 1951 were found in the deep beach sand at groundwater level. …

The redescriptions and illustrations of three species, Isometrus (Isometrus) maculatus (DeGeer, 1778), Lychas mucronatus (Fabricius, 1798) (Buthidae), and Liocheles australasiae (Fabricius, 1775) (Hemiscorpiidae) from Hainan Island, China are presented. Distribution data and updated key of Hainan scorpions are provided.

Pandinus (Pandinurus) awashensis sp. n. from Ethiopia, P. (P.) somalilandus sp. n. from Somaliland, and P. (P.) lowei sp. n. from Democratic Republic of Congo are described and compared with other species of the subgenus. P. (P.) sudanicus Hirst, 1911 stat. n. previously considered a synonym of P. (P.) magrettii Borelli, 1901 is recognized as a valid species. New data on taxonomic characters and distribution of the subgenus Pandinurus are presented. The genus Erythranthe (Phrymaceae) continues to be a source of floristic novelty, especially in the American West, as evidenced by recent discoveries presented here. Two species in Erythranthe section Paradantha (E. montioides and E. palmeri) have long been a source of taxonomic confusion. Recent research reveals that a total of ten species have previously been treated as part of these two species. Here I present a revised taxonomy for E. montioides and E. palmeri including clarification of species circumscriptions (E. montioides, E. palmeri), recognition of three species that have previously been treated as synonyms …

Laboulbenia taiwaniana sp. nov. on Craspedophorus formosanus is described from Taiwan and illustrated with photographs. It is characterized by a long, asymmetrical perithecium with an oblique apex and a pale-colored lower wall, a slender, evenly tapered receptacle with cylindrical cell I and II and trapezoidal cell IV, well developed appendages with black septa concentrated in the basal portion of the appendage system, and especially by black septa on the distal end of cell g. Two new species of Prolixandromyces (Laboulbeniales) parasitic on Rhagovelia (Heteroptera: Veliidae) are described and illustrated: Prolixandromyces benjaminii from the Philippine Islands and P. lanceolatus from Africa (Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and South Africa) and Asia (Indonesia: Sulawesi, Sumba, Timor; Malaysia: Selangor; and Sri Lanka). In order to accommodate these species the circumscription of Prolixandromyces is emended. The new taxa are compared with the one known species from the Old World, P. triandrus from Spain, and with the five known New World taxa.
