The protection of productive agricultural land and the avoidance of land use conflicts in rural areas are important objectives of the Western Australian Government. They are reflected in the State Planning Strategy, Agriculture Western Australia’s strategic plan, ‘Focus on the Future’ and draft Statement of Planning Policy (SPP) No. 11 – Agricultural and Rural Land Use Planning Policy. There are 95 crops grown in the United States that require insect pollinators. In addition, many bee-pollinated plants provide food for wildlife, increase soil fertility, and beautify our landscapes.
