2022 High Tunnel Fresh Market Determinate Tomato Cultivar Trial For Southern Illinois, Bronwyn Aly

Midwest Vegetable Trial Reports

A determinate tomato cultivar trial was conducted at the University of Illinois Dixon Springs Agricultural Center (DSAC) located in southern Illinois (Pope County) during the 2022 growing season. The objective of this trial was to compare performance of thirteen fresh market determinate tomato cultivars in a high tunnel production system.

Tomato Cultivar Evaluation In High Tunnels, Northern Indiana, 2017, Elizabeth Maynard, Erin A. Bluhm Jan 2018

Tomato Cultivar Evaluation In High Tunnels, Northern Indiana, 2017, Elizabeth Maynard, Erin A. Bluhm

Midwest Vegetable Trial Reports

Tomatoes are a common crop grown in unheated greenhouses, commonly called high tunnels. Production in these structures has increased in recent years. This trial was conducted to evaluate varieties for their performance as a summer-harvested crop in soil-based high tunnel production systems. Five hybrid determinate varieties or line, one hybrid indeterminate, and one open-pollinated indeterminate variety were compared for yield, earliness, fruit size, and quality.

High Tunnel Production Of Primocane Bearing Red Raspberries In Grow Bags, Jennifer Sue Morganthaler Jul 2016

High Tunnel Production Of Primocane Bearing Red Raspberries In Grow Bags, Jennifer Sue Morganthaler

MSU Graduate Theses

Raspberries (Rubus idaeus) are a perennial crop with increasing consumer demand. While this highly perishable crop has not proven to be a commercially viable field grown crop in the Midwest, it does show increased yields when grown in a high tunnel. High tunnel construction in Missouri has increased partly due to the NRCS grant program. However, high tunnel production permanently utilizes that space. Bagged culture allows growers the ability to maximize high tunnel space and produce other annual crops, while testing the performance of the crop for their production. This 4 year trial evaluates 5 primocane bearing red raspberries cultivars …

Mini- And Heirloom Sweet Pepper Variety Performance In High Tunnels, 2015, Elizabeth Maynard, Israel S. Calsoyas

Purdue Fruit and Vegetable Research Reports

Trials on mini sweet peppers and other specialty sweet peppers in the Midwest have not recently been reported. We undertook this project to compare yield and fruit characteristics of hybrid and heirloom peppers grown in high tunnels using organic and conventional production methods.
