Like music, one of the hallmarks of biodiversity is theme and variation. Redbuds—species of the genus Cercis— from around the world illustrate this analogy well. Because all redbud species conform to a certain morphological theme, anyone familiar with one particular species of redbud should be able to recognize without hesitation any other redbud species as a member of the genus Cercis. The Lichen Flora Of Gunib Plateau, Inner-Mountain Dagestan (North-East Caucasus, Russia), Gennadii Urbanavichus, Aziz Ismailov

As a result of lichenological exploration of the Gunib plateau in the Republic of Dagestan (North-East Caucasus, Russia), we report 402 species of lichenised, 37 lichenicolous, and 7 nonlichenised fungi representing 151 genera. Nineteen species are recorded for the first time for Russia: Abrothallus chrysanthus J.Steiner, Abrothallus microspermus Tul., Caloplaca albopruinosa (Arnold) H.Olivier, Candelariella plumbea Poelt & Vezda, Candelariella rhodax Poelt & Vezda, Cladonia firma (Nyl.) Soil-Plant Relations In The Annual Gypsophila (Caryopyhllaceae) Taxa Of Turkey, Mustafa Korkmaz, Hasan Özçeli̇k

The soil properties of the annual Gypsophila L. taxa of Turkey and their effects on plant morphology were investigated. The taxa studied were Gypsophila heteropoda Freyn & Sint., G. parva Barkoudah, G. elegans M.Bieb., G. bitlisensis Barkoudah, G. viscosa Murray, G. antari Post & Beauverd, G. muralis L., G. tubulosa (Jaub. & Spach) Boiss., G. confertifolia Hub.-Mor., and G. pilosa Hudson. The soils of the plant taxa were medium textured, sand or sandy-loam, saltless or a little salty, neutral, limy, rich in potassium and with very little phosphorous, and with medium levels of nitrogen and organic matter. Contributions To Lichen Diversity Of Turkey From The Sarısu Area (Kocaeli), Gülşah Çobanoğlu, Bi̇rkan Açikgöz, Laurentiu Baloniu

A total of 85 lichen taxa from the Sarısu area of the district of Kandıra in Kocaeli Province were listed. Three new records for the biota of Turkey, Coenogonium pineti (Ach.) Lücking & Lumbsch, Lecania cuprea (A.Massal.) Van den Boom & Coppins, and Opegrapha calcarea Turner ex Sm., have been identified within the context of this study along with 81 new taxa for the province of Kocaeli.

Three pyronemataceous macrofungi genera, Acervus Kanouse, Neottiella (Cooke) Sacc., and Rhodoscypha Dissing & Sivertsen, are recorded for the first time from Turkey, based on the collection of Acervus epispartius (Berk. & Broome) Pfister, Neottiella rutilans (Fr.) Dennis, and Rhodoscypha ovilla (Peck) Dissing & Sivertsen. Short descriptions of the taxa are provided together with photographs related to macro- and micromorphologies.
