Background:Oral Health (OH) is an important topic and area of medicine that all physicians should understand and that has become a more pressing issue in the last decade. OH is clearly tied to overall health and a number of systemic diseases, such as diabetes, immune disorders and infectious diseases, are known to have oral manifestations. A review of forestry education based on literature and a survey of 186 foresters reveals the diversity of interests within the Australian forestry profession. The survey refl ects the utility of subjects such as silviculture, mensuration and forest management, and highlights the need to include subjects such as human resource management, business studies and communication skills in forestry programmes. Results also suggest that there is the need for more innovation in the teaching of foundation subjects such as chemistry. Education, at multiple levels with audiences in Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, and along the flyways where sandhill (Grus canadensis) and whooping cranes (G. americana) sometimes find themselves in close quarters with people, is the key to protecting North America's cranes. The migration of these birds highlights the dependence of cranes and other wildlife on wetlands along the migration routes. Most of these wetlands are privately owned, so the decisions and conservation outlook of future generations are critical to the survival of these cranes. The State of Utah has one of the highest food insecurity rates in the nation. It is ranked in the top 4% in the nation of being food insecure and 34% of the state is considered low-income, defined as at or below 185% of poverty level (LeBlanc, Christofferson, & Christensen, 2008). These trends place Utah’s low-income population at increased risk of obesity and chronic disease. The Center of Hunger and Poverty reported a high rate of obesity among low-income individuals, with hunger, poverty, and obesity frequently occurring at the same time (USDA, 2009).
