The objective of this monograph is to provide wildlife professionals, who respond to human–bear conflicts, with an appraisal of the most common techniques used for mitigating conflicts as well as the benefits and challenges of each technique in a single document. Most human–black bear conflict occurs when people make anthropogenic foods like garbage, dog food, domestic poultry, or fruit trees available to bears. Bears change their behavior to take advantage of these resources and may damage property or cause public safety concerns in the process. Social problems and adverse consequences have been associated with risky alcohol use (Paschall et al, 2015). Personalized Normative Feedback (PNF) has been utilized to address these problems (White and Hingson, 2014) by comparing students’ alcohol use to campus or national norms (Butler et al, 2009). The current investigation sought to understand differences in alcohol use behaviors in freshmen who did and did not report completion of a personalized feedback intervention (PFI) in a diverse sample of college students from the Spit for Science (S4S) project. There has been an increase in use of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the United States because they are less expensive and believed to be more effective with less adverse effects in comparison to traditional pharmaceutics. Therefore, sales have increased in the US, despite articles and case studies demonstrating the dangers, such as injury and death, related to TCM, stemming from improper labelling, toxic contaminants, and, in some cases, the presence of pathogenic bacteria. The School of Forest Resources at the University of Maine began in 1903 as the Department of Forestry in the College of Agriculture to offer practical work in forestry, but also a liberal education.

In 1935 the Wildlife Curriculum and Research Unit were added. In 1958 the Department was renamed the School of Forestry and in 1967 the name was changed to the School of Forest Resources. The College of Forest Resources was established in 1982. In 1993 it became part of the College of Natural Resources, Forestry and Agriculture.

Pusey and Jones Corporation was a major shipbuilder and industrial equipment manufacturer located in Wilmington, Delaware. Shipbuilding was the primary focus from 1853 until the end of World War II. While manufacturing and fabrication of papermaking machinery was a part of the company from nearly the beginning, after World War II, the company closed the shipyard and converted the shipyard's facilities to manufacture papermaking machinery exclusively. The company closed in 1959.

Records pertain mainly to machinery for the pulp and paper business. Also included are papers related to Penntech, a corporation with which the donor was associated.

The Kimberley Rangelands Biosecurity Association (KRBA) has an annual Large Feral Herbivore culling program that includes feral donkeys, horses and camels with other animals such as water buffalo and pigs targeted when located. The program focusses primarily on donkeys, using the radio telemetry technique with horses and camels culled opportunistically during tracking. Currently there are 135 active collars throughout the region.

Well another year down and a job well done by the Eastern Wheatbelt Biosecurity Group. List of achievements for the year, after lots of persistence we finally have the Koolyanobbing Grid back in place, we have held seven pest workshops throughout our area, over seventy Restricted Chemical Product (RCP) Permits approved and paid for by the EWBG and we have attended multiple field days and industry events. The Meekatharra Rangelands Biosecurity Association Inc (MRBA) is an industry body with a membership of all pastoralists in the Shires of Yalgoo, Mount Magnet, Cue and Meekatharra. The Association has been established under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 with a charter to manage and control declared pests, both animal and plant.

The Pilbara RBG is a not for profit association formed under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, providing declared pest control programs for land managers, particularly in the pastoral zone. The associations’ primary purpose is the control of declared pests using funding from Declared Pest Rates paid by landholders on pastoral stations. These Declared Pest Rates funds are matched dollar for dollar by the WA Government to reflect the public benefit of controlling declared pest animals and weeds. The association is formally recognised by the Hon Minister for Agriculture and Food as a recognised biosecurity group (RBG).

Methylation Sensitive High-Resolution Melt (MS-HRM) is based on quantitating the melt curve from an experimental sample against a standard of known methylation levels. Whereas most applications of age prediction using methylation markers are based upon pyrosequencing or SNaPshot technologies, these analysis methods are both cost and instrumentation prohibitive. This study sought to use to the varied methylation status of the ELOVL2 and FHL2 alleles, both having known correlation with age (Hamano et. al.), in a labor and time efficient manner to develop an age prediction model. PURPOSE: Running-related injuries are most often single-sided and are partially attributed to lower limb movement and loading asymmetries.¹ Gluteus Medius (GM) plays a significant role in lower limb alignment, especially in the frontal and transverse planes by its influence on the pelvis and the femur.² Female runners are more prone to GM weakness which has been proposed to be a risk factor for overuse injuries.³ These strength deficits contribute to abnormal lower limb kinematics and kinetics during dynamic tasks like running and jumping.⁴ These changes include an increase in peak hip adduction angle (HA), hip internal …
