Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of betaine as partial replacement of dl-methionine (DLM) and methionine hydroxy analogue (MHA) on the performance of broilers and layers. In experiment 1, forty-five (45) individually caged 24-week old pullets were randomly assigned to five treatments following a completely randomized design (CRD). RAch treatment was replicated 9 times with one pullet per replicate. In experiment 2, three hundred (300) day-old broiler chicks were randomly distributed to five dietary treatments following a completely randomized design_ Each treatment was replicated six timOes with 10 birds per replicate.
