Clinical And Laboratory Studies In Four Goats With Leptospirosis Out Of A Herd Of Goats, Murat Dabak, Yusuf Gül, Ömer Kizil, Vi̇ldan Özdemi̇r

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Four male goats aged 10-12 months showing clinical signs of leptospirosis out of a herd of 90 goats in the province of Elazığ were used in this study. Having performed a systematic clinical examination of the sick animals, blood samples were taken from v. jugularis for heamatological (total leucocytes, erythrocytes, haemoglobin and PCV), biochemical (blood glucose, plasma proteins, albumin, globulin, total, direct and indirect bilirubin, aspartate amino transferase, urea and creatinin) and serological (microscopic agglutination test, MAT) analysis. Intramuscular penicillin+streptomycine, subcutaneous 40% urotropin solution and oral ammonioum chloride were administered daily. Two of the sick animals died while the other …

An Investigation On Determining Protected (By-Pass) Protein Values Of Dairy Compounds Exposed To Different Treatments, Betül Zehra Sariçi̇çek

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study was carried out to determine the degradation characteristics of dairy compound feeds (DCF) subjected to various treatments, (fat, F; tannic acid, TA; fat+tannic acid, (F+TA), as well as the combination of all levels of F and TA). In the in situ trial, ruminal dry matter (DM) degradabilities, organic matter (OM) degradabilities, crude protein (CP) degradabilities and degradation parameters belonging to degradability values (a, b, c, a+b) and pepsin soluble nitrogen contents of 25 DCF were subjected to F (1, 2, 3 and 4%) , TA (2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10%) and F+TA (a combination of all levels of …
