Heritability Estimates And The Variation Of Pomological Traits, Total Phenolic Compounds,And Antioxidant Capacity In Two Apricot Progenies, Firat Ege Karaat, Sedat Serçe

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Even though pomological traits are important in fruit breeding for quality, antioxidant capacity and the total content of phenolic compounds have also gained importance, together with a rising awareness of their health benefits. As a result, this study was conducted to evaluate the variation and heritability levels of antioxidant capacity and total phenolic compounds, as well as pomological traits in 'Hacıhaliloğlu' × 'Stark Early Orange' and 'Çataloğlu' × `Stark Early Orange' apricot crosscombinations based on phenotypic assessments of fruit samples. The results indicated significant differences among F1 progenies in the samples involved in the study. Broad-sense heritability coefficients ranged from …

Multiple Resistance, Detoxifying Enzyme Activity, And Inheritance Of Abamectin Resistance In Tetranychus Urticae Koch (Acarina: Tetranychidae), Si̇bel Yorulmaz, Recep Ay

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The present study investigated the biochemical mechanism of abamectin resistance in a Tetranychus urticae Koch population collected from a bean greenhouse (BEYO 2) in Beyobası village in Gazipaşa district, Antalya province, and maintained in the laboratory. LC_{50, 60, 90} levels of BEYO 2 population of T. urticae were determined using a dry film method. The LC50 level of the BEYO 2 strain with abamectin was selected 15 times and was increased from 2.42 µL 100 mL^{-1} water to 38.67 µL 100 mL^{-1} water. A selected strain showing 35.05-fold resistance was named ABA 15 strain. It was investigated whether the resistant …

Estimation Of Inheritance Of Some Agronomical Characters In Common Wheat By Diallel Cross Analysis, Okan Şener, Mehmet Kilinç, Tacetti̇n Yağbasanlar Jan 2000

Estimation Of Inheritance Of Some Agronomical Characters In Common Wheat By Diallel Cross Analysis, Okan Şener, Mehmet Kilinç, Tacetti̇n Yağbasanlar

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

This study was conducted to determine the genetic structure of a population which included six common wheat cultivars or lines and crosses of half diallel cultivars or lines. It was concluded that the epistatic effect was significant for a weight of 1000 grains and yield per plant, while the additive effect was significant for period of maturity, the number of spikelets per head, and the number of kernels per hear. The dominance effect was found in yield per plant. A partial dominance effect was found in other char-acters. It was found that at least 4 pairs of genes were effective …
